Excellent food and service. This place is a little harder to find and away from the main tourist drag so the prices are more reasonable. Very nice looking authentic restaurant with very good food. I would highly recommend coming here. I've tried several pastas, in particular the wild boar ragu which was amazing. Well done!

We fancied a change from the paprika heavy dishes normally served in Budapest and found this lovely little Italian restaurant. The staff are very friendly, and they were attentive (but there were only 2 tables at the time). Sometimes it took a little longer to make ourselves understood but we soon got there in the end. The food was delicious,... More

Budapest now offers the traveller such an infinite variety of restaurants. Many have become jaded tourist traps but il Pittore strikes a refreshing note towards the innovative and the individual. Hungarian food with a modern twist and an individual touch in terms of flavours and presentation mark this out as a special place. It has yet to be 'discovered' and... More

We had an excellent weekend at Villa Fiore, therfore I felt I need to go to the restaurant which is managed by Zsuzsi and Győző after they left Villa Fiore. I can say, it was much better than I expected. So the food was excellent and they remember to us as a guest, in their life in the past. So... More

This restaurant looks really nice and its interior design is amazing. however, having been delighted at first, we tried ordering. We asked for vegetarian dishes, and the waitress said that she did not know if there were any. We politely asked her to ask the chef to which she agreed. WE WAITED FOR 45 mins without any explication. Finally, I... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
