Went to this cafe for light lunch. Service was slow. Hot chocolate drinks were good, if not a bit too sweet. Burgers were very slow to arrive and were heavy with lots of mayo. Chips/fries were cold. Service charge was added to check. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant/cafe.

Told it was table service so we found a table and sat down and waited, and waited and waited. Eventually I went back up to the counter and suggested we help ourselves! Staff not bothered and surly. Cakes tasty though but not normal Hungarian friendly welcoming service. Go elsewhere!

My wife and I visited while on Castle Hill on our way back from the Bastion. While the staff were a bit dour they were efficient and our brief visit was pleasant. Lovely coffees. Tasty cake. And all at prices which did not exploit the location. Worth a visit.

Stopped by this little cafe whilst walking and sightseeing. It wasn't clear when you walk in, if you should sit and there would be table service or you should order at the counter; the staff did not help & rarely spoke! We had a look at the cabinet and chose a cake, the waitress then told us to sit down... More

Nice place. Poor service when it comes to being seated. I came in the restaurant. Waiting for the people infront to be seating. Others came in rushed passed and sat themselves down. Very rude. Staff need to put something in place for this. Otherwise. Nice place for coffee and cake

Good food, poor customer service. After 15 minutes of waiting at a table we went to the bar to ask if we should place our order there, quite abruptly sent back to our seats. Order finally taken, food was lovely and Irish coffees strong! Another long wait for the bill, even after 2 members of staffed stopped by our table... More

Situated at the end of Disz ter near the no 16 /16A bus stop, this is a conveniently located and busy cafe -- it looks like it belongs to a chain of cafe, but the food is mostly Hungarian with some soups and sandwiches included in the menu. The range of cakes is extensive. I had the goulash and a... More

A chain coffee house (I think) with rather obtrusive piped music. The lunch selection is a little burger-dominated but decent enough. Service is brisk and efficient but a little lacking in finesse. Some English spoken. Does the job but there are better places to get the coffee house experience in Budapest.

Impossible to order from the staff. Lemonade is insanely sour and they gave granulated sugar to the cold lemonade to make it sweeter.

We stopped for drinks and a snack, partly to get out of the rain. It proved to be a good chance find. The staff were good and also helpful with directions. The strudels are absolutely amazing.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
