We found Andante by chance on our last visit to Budapest and we made a point of going back. The place has a wonderful atmosphere and the staff are friendly and very knowledgable about wines. We enjoy the local red wines and we were not disappointed at the excellent bottle of red we shared. We were also given a lovely... More

I ordered Goulash what came directly from the microwave owen and still tasted like any food from the refridgerator. The wines were average, the waiter were bored and careless. Maybe they didn't want tip... well, it was successfull tactic, they didn't get. I will never visit this place again. They tries to pretend being a classy place but they are... More

When I'm visiting Budapest I always go to this wine-bar. Very tasty wines for very good prices. Bar staff is so professional.

What a joy to find this restaurant for some typical Hungarian cuisine. Thank you Michael, Hotel Boutique Victoria, for this recommendation. Not only was the food outstanding, it was reasonably priced and the staff went out of their way to make sure that we enjoyed our time there. We had both the Goulash and Chicken Paprika and I have to... More

Having dinner anywhere on the 31 of Dec is not reflecting the average day. Enjoyed some of the food, didn't like some others, drunk all of the (good) wine! Happy 2017 guys!

While beggars can't be choosers, and this was one of the only places open for dinner on Christmas Eve (24th), I wish we hadn't gone there. The "Christmas menu" featured exactly 2 items for the main course. A choice of turkey or sole. Both of us ordered the turkey and were totally disappointed. The turkey was bone dry, with no... More

We popped into this restaurant for a glass of wine after a meal close by and were not disappointed. Service was very friendly and we were offered wine tasting of various Hungarian wines for no fee. There was a good selection and prices were fair. A relaxed atmosphere and the food looked ok to judging by the plates that we... More

We usually avoid places with a tourist menu, we should have stuck to our rules. The waiter was very helpful, especially with wine selection. The food was ok. The price was high. Unless you are a wine lover I'd go somewhere else.

We visited this restaurant at lunch time and had just goulash soup, but was very tasty! Lovely view, great staff, reasonable prices and a huge wine offer for wine lovers.

We ate at Andante Borpatika for lunch last week, and both the food and service were incredible! Our waiter, Alex (I think), was so friendly and gave great recommendations from the menu. Also great value for what you get! Highly recommend.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
