We went to this restaurant for dinner whilst visiting the Christmas markets, the food was extremely dry and had no taste at all, the wifi I told hasn't been working for years but they still say it's working, the service was ok, they had a trio playing and they were good but they came and played for us but they... I recently visit this traditional restaurant! The food was delicious 😋 and the wine 🍷recommended by the waitress had a good taste. I recommend it as a medium price restaurant in city centre!

Four of us had a wonderful meal at Apostolok. Traditional Hungarian food and music to boot! Reasonable prices. We left very happy!

I recently had the pleasure of having dinner at the Apostolok restaurant, Budapest. What prompted me was that my late father, a pharmacist in Szabadka, often talked about having had the best meals at Apostolok on his frequent visits to Budapest during the 1920's and 1930's when he had suits done for him by a then well known tailor there.... Stumbled across this restaurant to get off the street on a rainy Saturday afternoon whilst visiting Budapest. Fantastic interior. Staff service although quiet when we visited was very welcoming, friendly and efficient. Food was great for the price and easily our best meal/service in Budapest. Highly recommend.

My friend and I walked past this restaurant on the way down to a river cruise on our first night in Budapest. It looked lovely and so we made a point of coming back for our evening meal. We were greeted by polite and friendly staff and shown to our table. Whilst selecting our drinks the live music started which... More

Walked by Apostolok a number of times on our way to the subway stop from Vaci Utca. One day, Monica, stopped us to tell us the restaurant was 106 years old but the food was not. Ha ha. Cute. So we returned that night for dinner. Sat outside under the umbrellas. Now this street is Kigyo Utca and is a... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
