Halaszle soup is not very great (3* from 5*). Serving is fine. Belgian beer is super - strong and effective (to fast drank). There is contactless card or mobile pay support - paypass.

My husband is a big fan of Belgian beers, so even before we travelled to Budapest he searched out places that serve them and this cafe was one of them. I wasn't expecting food to match their beer selection, oh how wrong I was! Goulash is the best in the city for sure! As well as the simple chicken nuggets... More

Fine food if not for the fact that you get to much. Miss the starter unless you are special. Massive beer selection too.

When walking at the right bank of the Danube river it is quite easy to find the place. Few tables outside, a large area inside. I was quite hungry and started with a goulash soup (good one) and continue with spare-ribs (superb). Plus a glass of a good red wine. All together a very nice dinner for quite a reasonable... More

We came here a number of times as we were so impressed by the food and quality of service, and it was near our hotel. The food felt like it was authentic Hungarian, and all was delicious. Little warning - the staff were not great with English (which I don't mind - they clearly weren't just a 'tourist stop', and... More

I travel for a living and have seen service levels at all ranges across 4 continents. I get that in Europe the wait staff doesn't hover and I really do appreciate that. But to have to walk to the bar over and over to have the waiter come to our table is ridiculous. He kept coming into the room where... More

Pick this restaurant for two reasons...it was walking distance to the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble which we attended after dinner and I love Belgian beer and food. The Belgian beer selection was unbelievable and a great value compared to what I pay in the US. I ordered the mussels and French fries...both were very good. My only complaint was a... More

The beer selection is great, the staff is fine (their English is not so good), but the food is really poor; dry mussels, tasteless french fries and chicken breast with a very thick crust. Location is nice!

4 of us met here for a regular meeting as one of us heard good things about this place. The ambience is a real good beer place, with small tables, relatively close to each other. The drink (beer) selection is really good here, from the tap, and in bottle as well. The food was ok, fishsoup was good and comes... More

A nice bar with great views from the outside seating area. It is famous for its huge selection of Belgian beers although it does everything else as well. The food whilst not gourmet was fine, tasty and of good portion size and overall good value.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
