We chanced upon Boom and Brass on our first night in Budapest and enjoyed it. The place is neat, attractive and very clean. The food and the service were well above standard and the location is perfect for those exploring the city. We enjoyed it so much that we were back for a second evening's dinner and would return again!

Visited the restaurant in Nov 16, good location (corner of Vörösmarty Square), midweek visit with no reservation to a reasonably busy restaurant but we were seated straight away, first service (drinks) was a little slow as the girl that directed us to the table just left without advising a waiter we had just arrived, however once we made ourselves noticed... We were shopping in the Christmas Market in Vorosmarty Square in Budapest the day before Christmas eve and wanted to get something simple to eat. We discovered the Boom and Brass at the north end of the square. It was significantly nicer than the sort of place we had been looking for but we thought, as we were completely frozen... More

Great location overlooking the Christmas market. The restaurant is very pretty inside. It makes a good setting for a date night or business dinner. The food was very good. We had the Cream of Asparagus soup to begin our meal. It was superb. We continued with a Schnitzel and the King Prawns (which came with an excellent salad of mixed... More

Food was excellent and service was friendly. Beer selection was a bit lacking. You pay a bit of a premium for location being right on Vorosmarty Ter, but it was lively and the waitstaff were kind and professional.

Ate here after night cruise. A lovely ambiance with excellent service and a reasonable price. But, the food could have been better. We wanted something local so my wife had the Hungarian goulash, which was great, and I had the seafood goulash which was not so good - a bit of fish filled out with cauliflower. I would rather have... More

We ate here following our visit to the Christmas markets. We only had main courses as we had eaten a very late lunch earlier. I ordered the pork loin. This was beautifully tender and delicious. The saute vegetables were tasty and portions adequate. Overall we felt that we had very good value for money. I was slightly hot in the... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
