We'd been recommended to come to M by multiple friends back home in London- such a lovely, intimate atmosphere with very friendly staff. I'm vegetarian & like everywhere in Budapest the options are slightly limited- but the food was absolutely delicious- packed full of flavour. My friend had the goulash which she loved. Great wine, informal, warm and a lovely... More

The place is small but cute, there is no real decor everything is drawn on the wall! While waiting for your dishes you can write on you table (covered by paper). Everything we tasted was very good, we spent 10000huf (and left 2000 for the service). Very kind waiter.

We dined at this amazing restaurant in Budapest about ten days ago. The food was absolutely amazing--authentic, but with subtle and compelling revisions. Our party was a bit on the raucous side, but our serving person made us feel completely comfortable. This is truly one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had and I live in New York and... When me and my mum discovered that our restaurant choice for the evening was all booked up, we walked around aimlessly for what seemed like forever, looking for another good place to eat. After a while we were hungry and tired and decided that we would just go for the next place that showed up - and that place was... More

This is one of those places that I hesitate to review, because I don't want it to become so popular that I can't get a table when I want one! That being said, it really is a gem. Unpretentious and honest, cute and humourous, the food is fabulous. And if you don't need glitz and glam, then there's nowhere that... More

Very good food in the center of Budapest. The restaurant has has very nice and unofficial interior. Food was really delicious. I can recommend choice of Hungarian charcuterie and goulash. I have only one question - why they accept only cash payments ? Anyway - food was really outstanding, I had cash, so everything was great.

Staff were friendly and informal. I loved the quirky feeling of the whole place. The food was outstanding Cooked with great care and presented beautifully. The Goulash was sublime. I'm coming back to Budapest early next year and this will be my first stop...honestly!

This intimate restaurant, a block from a commercial, tourist oriented street of larger, louder places, was a perfect spot to end days of touring Budapest. So nice, we went there twice. Excellent cooking, reasonable portions, fabulous prices, and a friendly, courteous staff.

Absolutely charming restaurant on 2 levels. Very small, with attentive service. Quirky interior which makes it all cute....but the best part was the food! Both the starters we has were delicious!!! And then the goulash was the best we had in our 3 day trip there. (oh and the chocolate melting cake was yummy too!) Highly recommend!!

We went beginning of November 2016. We were sitting upstairs. The room was rather small but that can be charming. The problem was that the waitress didn't come up often and I never had the water I asked. The food was good but a bit heavy. All in all it was not bad but I really had a bad moment... More

Dear Veronica E, I am glad that your overall impression was good! I am however sorry about the inconvenience regarding the payement. Unfortunately we can't take cards, it is marked on several places in the restaurant, guests often have to go to an ATM to pick up cash. This is something that we can't change, but we are more than... Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
