My friend and I went to Regos Vendeglo to try some traditional Hungarian food, and we were very satisfied with our meals. The food isn't mind-blowingly gourmet, but it is pretty good when you consider the price. We each had drinks, entrees, sides, and desserts for well under $20. Definitely a great option for backpackers looking for something local.

We visited this restaurant because of the good reviews on being authentic Hungarian food. The food tasted pretty bad. The soup was so salty, I couldn't have any of it. The main dish and desert were disappointing as well.

We went there looking for something different, something we wouldn't find easily in our country.... and we were not disappointed. The meal was fantastic: paprika with chicken, rosbife and deer. Simple and very tasty, very good. Something I would recomend very much! And the waiter was simply amazing, helping all the time and even giving tips for the best foods... More

Do not miss this place!!! When searching in the "cheap eats category " you don't find many amazing places like this one. It looks like nothing special from the outside but it is kind of underground with beautiful arched brick ceilings. We sat at the cozinlittle booth and had a three course lunch ( 2 people, 2 beers, a 1... More

Authentic hungarian dishes, fair prices (NO service fee of 10 to 12 percent like in most of the places), staff was friendly, location was quite nice. I can fully recommend it if look for simple and cheap hungarian dishes. Try the hungarian dishes (you can ask the staff which ones are really hungarian) and avoid the "international" dishes, they are... More

This place serves traditional Hungarian cuisine! Highly recommend the beef stew with Hungarian dumplings! Good portion, and it was just oh-so-delicious! If one doesn't eat beef, chicken drums or paprika chicken are also available. More traditional Hungarian cuisine, such as beer meat and goose legs, are also available. I didn't get the guts to try them (and I really should... More

On our way to the heroes square, Vajdahunyad Castle and Szechenyi baths we stopped by this hidden place in the basement if a building. Food is really inexpensive and quality is very good. Perhaps that soups could have a little more substance. Anyway, completely recommended to try good Hungarian cuisine at low prices.

Friends enjoyed dinner here twice so had highly recommended ito. I had dinner at another restaurant, which was below average. We were in the mood for desert so decided to come here for desert and coffee to check it out personally. The atmosphere and the decor is cozy, with brick arched ceilings and other features. Service and food were excellent.... More

We were so looking forward to dinner here, even took a taxi to get here because we were too far away to walk. The restaurant is cozy and has character, for sure! However, the rest of the time we were there we felt very awkward. Our waitress was sullen, non-communicative, and did not return to see if we liked our... More
