We were staying near here so booked for dinner on recommendations from Tripdavisor, and I ordered the ribs. I was disappointed though as they were tough and chewy. Service was poor, I wanted another glass of wine but the waiter was inattentive, although he did recommend a wine to go with my meal initially. There was hardly anybody in the... More

We had spotted this restaurant the day previous as we were bimbling around Raday Utca where we were bar and pub hopping and so we decided to drop into here for a meal the next day. Walking in and you know your in a proper traditional restaurant with lovely decor and furnishings, spotlessly clean with plenty of seating options and staff... More

This is what I was expecting from a genuine local restaurant not for tourists. Kind personnel, very good food at good prices, large selection of wines and beers, fast service. I've been there twice during my stay and I recommend it.

Came here with my friend, we are both big eaters. We ordered the minced veal pancakes each for starter, they were absolutely delicious. We then ordered mangalita ribs 'Hungarian style', which apparently not only means covered in a delicious sauce, but also means a huge portion consisting of at least one whole rack of ribs. We also had 2 glasses... More

We wanted to try traditional Hungarian fare. This was a great place to do it. Excellent food, plenty of choice. The goulash was excellent and I had goose which was cooked to perfection. Staff are very friendly, attentive & helped us choose a really nice Hungarian wine to accompany our meal. We had a really enjoyable evening.

Our first meal in Budapest and well worth it. The restaurant wasn't very busy but it was a Sunday night, if that makes a difference. The waiter was great, friendly, very helpful and even helped us with our pronunciations of Hungarian words. Food was very fresh and very tasty, we had steaks which were mouth watering. Value for money without... More

Traditional Hungarian restaurant. There was a band playing, which made it kind of fun during dinner. **Extremely big portions so come hungry or share plates.** I got the Goulash soup, which was really good. It was my first goulash soup, so I don't know how it compares to others, but it was very good and not too salty. I then... More

We enjoyed all of our meals and the house wine, really recommend. Our waiter was extremely charming, attentive and helpfull. My dish, the fillet steak with superb foie gras 'Budapest' was ordered with the suggested duchesse potatoes - one of the best mains I have enjoyed in recent years. The live music was very good and we will be back!... More

I went in January, so there were no crowds to speak of in Budapest. The selection was great, with many authentic Hungarian dishes such as goose liver and fried cheese. I had the goulash and wiener schnitzel with pickles, and espresso. Excellent food, cozy environment, and efficient staff.

"Red Mail Coach" - "Voros Postakocsi" is traditional Budapest restaurant. It cannot be said, that the Voros Postakocsi Restaurant in Raday Street really stands out from the others, but anyone looking for a Hungarian culinary experience shouldn't pass it by. Originally opened in the early seventies, this traditional fully licensed restaurant, specializing in authentic Hungarian dishes, has been a firm favourite for over three decades, serving authentic, well-cooked and reasonably priced food to its predominantly local Clientele. The restaurant offers a wide range of carefully selected meals from authentic and modern Hungarian cuisine. Traditionally heavy dishes are rendered light, courtesy of organic meat, dairy products and vegetables. The menu offers several vegetarian options. We formed the Red Mail Coach Restaurant's Menu around the Foie Gras and other Hungarian specialities. The restaurant's wide selection of modern Hungarian wines is a treat for all. The Red Mail Coach Restaurant offers more than 70 kinds of bottled wine, half of which is also available by glass at very attractive prices.
