This a real find. We were lucky to get the last table, so do book ahead. The atmosphere and service were brilliant, the food was excellent and good value. The fish soup was one of the most flavoursome I had ever had, the goose liver just melted I the mouth, beautifully cooked. Highly recommend.

we were lucky because we didn't book a table but were still able to eat something after some thermal baths. Prices were average, the location itself very cosy, staff friendly and helpful. Have to say that I ordered a "tartare" and...well let's just say that I guess hungarians have a different concept of what a tartar is...maybe after a stop... More

The goulash soup here is the BEST one that I have ever tasted in my life so far. Not oily and greasy at all, and that depth of flavour in the soup is amazing. The service is excellent and the waiters are generally very friendly, unlike some other restaurants in budapest. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very good. It... More

My partner recommended this restaurant for our final dinner, since it was complimented with lots of good rates and comments about the food. We ordered goat cheese (if I remember well) as an appetizer we both shared and the main meal, and to be honest, the portions were absolutely enormous! We took both at least half of our meals home... We booked a table and we visited this restaurant which according to a lot of people in Budapest is one of the best traditional restaurants. We arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation time and they gave us a table directly. When they brought us the menu, we realized that it was huge and there were many options. The most... More

We ate at Paprika a couple of years ago when we visited Budapest and decided to pay it another visit on our return trip in December. We saved this visit for the last night of our stay and it really ended the trip on a high. The food is delicious, well cooked, and the portions are enormous. What we are... More

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
