A typical Hungarian restaurant. we asked for butter to go with the bread and they were very obliging. There were 14 of us having our book club review. When it came to paying we were able to pay individually. I had a discount on my bill as the waiter forgot to remind the chef to serve my soup pipping hot.... More

It was suggested from the owners of the airbnb apartment that we stayed and it was a pleasant suprice.. Beautiful space with traditional style, perfect food and friendly stuff. The goulash soup was the Best thing and the main dishes were huge, in case you dont want starters! Highly reccomended :)

Very good food, especially goulash soup. Prompt service, but make sure you make reservation in advance because restaurant is small and during lunch time can be crowded.

I read some great reviews about this place and before arriving I already had planned to dine some traditional Hungarian food. The hotel booked the restaurant for us, it was walking distance from our hotel (Heroe's square). The restaurant is fitted out in traditional Hungarian interior, it was like what peasants use to decorate their houses, dried paprika hanging from... More

We were recommended to eat here by our guide. We're so glad we went. One of the best places we ate in Budapest. Make sure you make a reservation though!

We found this place thanks to TripAdvisor and it was also a few minutes walk from our hotel. We fancied more Hungarian food and were not disappointed. You have to try gypsy-style pork, amazing. Be warned, portions are massive so rather skip starters/soups. Maybe we were waiting bit long for our meals to arrive but it was worth. And really... More

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
