We had spotted this restaurant one evening, and decided to come back to try it. We came in for lunch, and found out that the ground level and upstairs floors were both self-service. You order and pay for your meal, wait for your number to...be called, then collect your food, and return your dirty dishes when you are finished. We found this a strange concept, especially when the restaurant became extremely crowded so that we had to queue for each step of this process. There is limited seating on the ground level and the upstairs floor, meaning that we shared a table with other people, which was fine, however larger groups had great difficulty finding seating. Some people also seemed to order before finding a seat, resulting in people wandering around with their food and having nowhere to sit. We were told that downstairs was for reservations only. We had read that the service was poor in other reviews, but obviously we found that there was no service at all. The lady taking orders at the counter was very abrupt though and, after serving us the wrong drink, had told me they didn't have what I had ordered and I would have to have what I had been served. We ordered the traditional goulash in bread and were pleased that after all of that, that the food was delicious and very filling. It was very cheap, costing 52 PLN, which is about £12. So for a cheap, quick bite, give this place a go, but if you're expecting quality service, it's not for you.More
It’s not that easy to find but stick with it and seek it out. It ain’t be to everyone’s taste as you go up and order and pay when you have chosen..no table service. Food is great, I would go for the goulash with the...pancakes..amazing. They give you complimentary doughnuts when you order which are delicious. Seek it out you won't be disappointed!More
This restaurant was suggested by my tour guide but it was a disappointment, the service is extremely bad, the waitress was extremely rude, you don't feel welcome at all.
The place is nice with good decoration but the service ruins the experience, horrible service, I...do not recommend this place.More
To start, we weren’t seen to for 10 mins, then being told rudely by their staff to go down stairs we were not so much welcomed to the restaurant. It was by far the rudest experience I’ve ever had in any restaurant world wide. The...food took 1.30 hours to arrive and arrived with several long black hairs in it. Overall the food wasn’t great and the staff made the experience worse.More
Where to start? Honestly the worst restaraunt I’ve ever been in. Couldn’t mark it any lower if I tried. The food was bland and hugely overpriced! But apart from that. The people were so rude it angered both me and my family! Made to feel...unwanted from the start. Waiting 1 hour for food and when asking where it was after 45 minutes, was told “it’ll come when it comes”. Disgraceful!More
We didn't book but got the last free table - so lucky. Directly opposite the Juliusz Slowacki Theatre so very easy to find. The basement is heavy Victorian with velvet drapes, mahogany furniture and all female servers. We started with herring and sour cream sauce...- just fabulous, I'm drooling just thinking about it. I then had goulash served in a bread bowl - mmmm and my wife roast pork with mashed potato. Two carafes of 0.5l Italian wine and all for less than 150 slt. We were left alone to sit and enjoy the restaurant - it was excellent and such good value!!More
