We found this Restaurant after a few minutes of searching for somewhere to eat during our day in Brno. I loved the interior! Food was delicious. I ordered Salmon with potato, and if I could fit more I would have ordered it again. It's a lovely place with affordable prices.

Good dark beers from the tap which was positive, but the sadly food was a let-down - no taste, no feeling, like no real effort was put into it. No wonder that our group was only one around. If I still end up here, I'll stick with drinking beer.

I stumbled across this place after a day in prague, while walking back to my hotel from the train station. I wanted something quiet off the main square. I dined outside on a lovely summer night watching families eating and having fun. I ordered salmon and fries. Both came piping hot and the salmon was tasty, though i assume was... More

Ribs was terrible: cold, many salt, not delicious. I was in Czech Republic 7 times, food in Cerny Medved most bad.

The decoration in this restaurant is a bit kitsch with fake panelling and signs of the zodiac painted on the walls. However, the result is to give the place warmth and atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the service was reasonably quick. Most importantly, the food we had was very good and none too expensive. All in all,... More

I was originally really excited when I heard the restaurant serves uzená žebra (smoked ribs). The best uzená žebra I had was in Plzen in the Urquell Pilsner restaurant. Compared to that, what they served at Cerny Medved is kind of disappointing. The portion is large, but the ribs were a bit over-roasted.

Warm and cozy wood and stone interior, accented with interesting paintings. We sat next to the zodiac wall. Very pleasant service, generous portions and tasty food. Will definitely visit again if I find myself in Brno.

I must appreciate pleasant waiter. The restaurant offers beer of smaller local breweries - Svijany and Polička. The beer was perfectly cold but inconsistent (too fast) shot beer. The interior of this restaurant is pleasant. Location in Jakubská square is great - it is closest city center - only a few steps from the heart of Brno. Cuisine is average.... More

Classic restaurant with perfect Czech cuisine and beer, my favorite food are smoked ribs and steak Tartar. Also i must highlight the seasonal actions, for example venison specialities and hogkilling specialities. Beer is perfect from small Czech home brewerys. At the end is a fair price.

Very traditional old world look to this restaurant. Very pleasant waitress who actually smiled and spoke good English. The food was good, especially the Zvickova. Tasty dark draft beer. Good prices. Good choice for eating in Brno.
