Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Check your itemised bill..they like to give you a different person's bill which just seems to be higher...they did correct it but only after I pointed it out...May have been a genuine error but would take care ...

We’d had this restaurant as a recommendation and were so glad we went. We had lunch which was delicious - 2 of us had the goulash and dumplings, delicious. We all had drinks, and the bill came to about £9 each! The staff are lovely,...very smart, very helpful. We had the smaller size portions, which were plenty for us - just wish we’d had room for the cakes, as they looked amazing. The decor is lovely, old fashioned elegance, with the addition of snooker tables if you want to take a break from the madness which is Prague! We thoroughly enjoyed this place, although very busy, we were served in no time. Would highly recommend a visit if you’re in Prague.More

My second visit in 11 years . Very popular restaurant especially with residents. Enjoyable despite being quite noisy.

Really enjoyed this experience… service extremely professional ( as has been the case everywhere we ate in Prague) , food was fresh as and totally yummy . Very eclectic mix of clientele made the people watching an added bonus … and you can have a...game of billiards with a historical flavour if that floats your boat ! What’s not to love ?More

This is a very popular restaurant situated in Central Prague, in the tourist area. The building is very opulent - you have to walk up several flights of stairs to reach the dining area. When I say it’s popular - it’s really busy. When I...was there, there were lines of people waiting to be seated. Thankfully the wait wasn’t too long. The service was fast, friendly, professional and came with a smile! 😀 All this opulence might lead you to believe that prices would be through the roof and there you’d be wrong. My beer and goulash came to a little under £12 GBP. So why only 3 points? Because it’s popular, they are anxious to get people in, fed and out in the quickest time possible. The food was OK, but it wasn’t really hot, probably because waiting for food to cool down takes time which means new customers have to wait longer and therefore less bums on seats. A pity.More

The place is a must visit if you come to Praha/Prague, it’s an old building so it has a lot of story behind it. We went there for late dinner and we tried the Ora Gina and grapefruit lemonade which were good, but when it...comes to the food it’s another level! The steak tartare with mascarpone is a rare but delicious mix of flavors, the grilled beef steak was amazingly good! It was so juicy and soft, the pepper sauce was so creamy and tasty and the potatoes were delicious! The attention from our waiter Erich was great and the suggestion for the pistachio dessert was great!More

The staff is very kind, good place to drink coffee. Vintage/floral/cottagecore styled restaurant & café. The history of the café is very interesting, and the café is old almost 1000 years. We asked for 2 glasses of water, but instead the waitress gave us 2...bottles of water and we needed to pay for that 🤨🫠 Also you can come here and dine. Beautiful.More

Recommend by our hotel receptionist. It was just around the corner. When we viewed the outside, we did think it looked a bit austere. Inside I imagined it being out of the old war era. The restaurant was lovely. I don’t think much changed. It...gets very busy and has a quick turnover. The food was excellent. Our pork lion on mash was out of this world. Portions were huge!. The price was so cheap even with the wine. Our only niggle they didn’t offer a sweet. Would highly recommend. But be prepared you clime 2 flights of stairs.More

Overall, it was a good experience. The menu was great, and the prices were unexpectedly low compared to other cafe restaurants we visited in Prague. Service was okay (but, could be better). Recommended place.

This is a beautiful restaurant with delicious traditional dishes. The reason for a fair rating is the almost unbelievable rudeness of our waiter Samuel. He ignored our table throughout the entire meal, never checking in to see how everything was, no opportunity to order additional...drinks, and honestly acting as if we weren’t there. It is such a shame as the food and space are lovely.More

I loved it here, the decor is beautiful, it’s got so much history and the food was amazing. As we walked up the stairs we thought we would have to queue for ages, but we were told to find a seat and got one straight...away. The service was swift, the Prosecco was lovely. The food was some of the best I had in Prague, I highly recommend the Pavlova. It is quite a busy place, I imagine you might need to book at the weekend, but I loved the atmosphere. Our waitress was named Marketa (I hope I’m spelling this correctly) and she was amazing.More

A Must When in Prague! I was their years ago. The atmosphere and service are great and centrally located. The food was mixed my Chicken Paprikash was not as great has It used to be. Good but not great. A Friends pork dish was fabulous...however. My strudel was apparently warmed in a microwave and ruined. Would definitely go again a very nice experience and reasonably priced!More

Cafe Louvre Review FOOD: AMAZING!!! We split a plate of the Velky Hovezi Gulāš (“large beef goulash with carlsbad dumplings”) and holy cow it was good!! This was our favorite dish we had in all of Prague. If we hadn’t wanted to try other restaurants...so badly, we absolutely would have come back here again for just to get the same dish! *Dairy free too! 10/10 would highly recommend!!! SERVICE: Standard European service, no fluffs, no frills. You’ll get your meal quickly but don’t expect to chat it up with the server. We appreciated how easily the kitchen accommodated us wanting to split a meal! 8/10 DECOR: Very neat and polished. Well done and clean. 10/10 Overall 10/10 because of the food. This is a Prague must go.More
