Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited for lunch, expecting much more than we got, as we had read some good reviews before, but it was one of those times that this is not the case in reality. All 3 dishes we had (2 chicken dishes & one noodles) were...from just indifferent to completely indifferent. Some ingredients we had read on the menu were almost absent, there too much watery sauce & the taste was very mediocre. Prices were high for what they served.More

Positives: - Food was freshly cooked - Food was hot when served - Atmosphere was good - Food came quickly Negatives: - When we arrived, staff were rude. They walked past us twice and do not even acknowledge us; no ‘I will be with you...in a minute’ - I had to go and ask to be seated, as we were still ignored. - Menu was all over the place, with nothing to explain what was in each dish, other than eg ‘chicken’ and ‘mushrooms’. - Order was taken, the drink I wanted was not available (Pepsi, nothing unusual), and the wrong type of water was brought (sparkling, not still). - The food looked lovely, but was incredibly bland - we could have been eating anything. Very much style over substance. We did not eat it all because of this, so a really waste. - They do not take card, only cash. So one of us had to wait in the restaurant while the other had to go and get some cash. This was not advertised before we went in that we could see, and it would not have hurt them to check we knew that when seating us. It was busy, so I am sure locals like it, but we did not, and we absolutely would not recommend it.More

Away from the crowds and noise of the old town center, but very easy to find. Very interesting decoration, very polite and fast service. The food was really good, the size of the portions more than satisfying and the price on the low side.

Only reason why i keep go to this place is my friend love it and keep bringing me here. I can see that this place have a class without unnecessary fancy things but since i spent in Asia (Thailand mostly) not a one year i'm...kinda spoiled and can't see any uniqueness which people discover here and admire. I think is too dark here for my opinion. I can barely can see the person who sit with me at same table if you're not sitting near window. Otherwise it is pretty comfy place especially for some date. Owner and stuff are Vietnamese but menu include Czech, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai cuisine, so, i think you can call this place generally Asian cuisine restaurant. But the problem is when i tried fried noodle with chicken - Thai style, i honestly, didn't felt any Thai's in it. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious as any other meals i ate here but i just don't get it why it call Thai style. And of course, because Maly Buddha locate like 300 meter from Prague Castle this is not cheap or even average prices place at all. And still i think with such a prices it suppose to be a little bit more food on plate. I see this is a good place, i see people like how it look and like the food here, but me, personally, not feeling it. i can't set 3 out 5 for this but it is not a 4 too.More

Had a meal here last week. Chris had prawn pad thai and I had chicken pad thai washed down with a beer each. The food was lovely and plentiful but the service was a little unfriendly. I would visit again but with a torch!

At first, we were nicely surprised by the pleasant atmosphere when we walked in. Unfortunately, the food didn´t meet our expecations and didn´t reflect the price, which was acceptable considering the location of this place - but it´s defo not cheap here...

Had a meal here recently and had read that we couldn’t book a table, so we arrived fairly early and had no problem getting a table for two. The restaurant is very dark but the food was very fresh and good quality. Only cash is...accepted here.More

I came for lunch and ordered the fresh spring rolls (best thing we ate) as well as chicken cashew and mushrooms. The food was all good although it is difficult to see at most of the tables as the place is very dark. The services...was mediocre- we had to ask for utilsels more than once. Something to note is they ONLY take cash. There are no signs on their website or on their door and so this is a surprise.More

The staff are great but they don't get any of the tips. Food was good but staff clearly aren't looked after. Shame about the management because the place is beautiful.

It was good to eat something different from the standard Czech fare of meat and dumplings. We ordered dishes to share and they were all delicious. The red rice with cashews was unusual, but the perfect accompaniment to the other dishes. Fresh lightly cooked vegetables...were really good and the crispy crab rolls a standout. Good service, friendly staff and lovely and cool inside after a very hot day.More

The food was great, and the location was adorable. Note- Cash only! Also note- be very clear about which water you are buying. Small thing but we said “bottomless water for (amount)” and even pointed to it on the menu. However, they gave us fancier...water with limes and charged us double the amount. Lychee drinks were delicious.More

The chef/owner has been here for 24 years, the longevity is testament to what he does and does well. The menu has been changed - gasp - but fear not ... it's just a bit more user friendly to read - all the favourites are...still there - all fresh and delicious with coriander and mint running through. The food is fresh and tasty and generous. It's dark and atmospheric inside, savour your time here. Book for larger tables. A really popular spot with locals and Prague inhabitants, off the beaten track but once you find it, you'll be back.More

Malý Buddha restaurant is a unique restaurant. Enough with meat experience with local food, now it's time for a tea. Malý Buddha is a teahouse run by a Buddhist who lived for a couple years in a Shaolin monastery. You can have your choice of...several dozens of teas to go with delicious spring rolls and noodle dishes. Although a teahouse and not a full service restaurant, you will not leave hungry. The laid-back owner offers generous servings of vegetarian specialties, fish, shark steaks and vegetable and mixed stir fry dishes. The menu is a mix of Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese dishes. The drink menu is unusual, listing herbal drinks, ginseng wine, Chinese rose liqueur, and unknown shots of exotic intoxicating mixtures. The deserts do not last for long. The teahouse is a no-smoking establishment which is uncommon in Prague, thus the hints of delicious food are untainted; and if you like the decorations, you can buy much of what you see. You may be surprised to find the prices are reasonable. Malý Buddha is a perfect place to stop when exploring Prague Castle and its neighborhood. Over all, Malý Buddha is a good place to enjoy your afternoon time. Selamat Makan!More

We came here to taste some tea with out family, so no judgement on the meals they serve. The inside was quite dark, lit by candles and due to the cellar like position, few daylight from the outside. The number of teas to serve from...was not huge (approx 40 different ones, including herbal infusions), but there was some diversity... white, green, black, oolong, japanese. Pretty well served in nice cans (with filter inside), and to drink from stone cups which were sure hot to hold in your hand... which remained more hot than the tea inside. Herbal infusions was served in a metal tea can. I ordered the ginger one, with green tea... and tasted okay from the start, but as the tea leaves were in the hot water together with the ginger, I had no means to get them out of the water... so the tea started to taste more and more bitter and thus last cup I was not to drink due to the bad taste. We've read some recommandation for the tea experience in this place, but one should know that loose tea leaves (especially the green ones) should be removed out of the water after a while in order to avoid the bitterness... not quite the expertise we expected ;(More
