Absolutely brilliant place. Ok it was a bit quirky and very traditional Czech decor ie wood everywhere! But the service, menu choices, quality and expense were of the highest quality at a very reasonable price. The pâté starter was HUGE! Indeed the table of 3...men near us shared it all between them! It was very good. For mains we had: Braised Beef with carrots, shallots & potatoes. It was like a hotpot and was very tasty. Venison tenderloin, which was beautifully cooked and came with a week’s supply of green beans! A bottle of good Czech red wine and a small beer. All for under £70. Like I said the choices were plentiful and I believe they’d all be of the same high quality. A little way out of the city centre but with a tram stop just outside, it was easy to get to. Would thoroughly recommendMore
Traditional Czech restaurant serving traditional food, plenty to choose from, everything we ordered was bursting with flavour, absolutely delicious, friendly welcome and great service. Busy with locals and tourists, I would recommend booking in advance so as not to be disappointed.
The staff was very polite and nice. The food was delicious, quite a big portion and they brought it after a decent waiting time but not too long. The place has a great atmosphere.
Simply excellent. Good, authentic czech food, local people enjoying their lunch break there, good deal for lunch - I recommend it. Staff was also really friendly and helpful.
Good informal restaurant for authentic local cuisine. Excellent value for money. Lively atmosphere full of locals and quirky decorating. Friendly non-intrusive service that didn’t rush us despite evident popularity.
This was most likely our best Czech meal in Prague, and I would recommend this restaurant without reservations. A bit pricier than other places, but excellent service, an interesting story (legend) to the restaurant, nice interior and the comfort food that is Czech cuisine done...beautifully. We had roast duck (amazing), and beef cheeks (so delicious!) with the usual accoutrements. Only thing missing is some green salad or fresh veg on the side (red cabbage doesn't count, in my world) to offset all the stodge.More
Food is delicious, like probably the best meal we had in Prague with my son. simple czeck food proposed by smiling and friendly waiters in a cozy old fashion restaurant. and the 22 tram stops nearby. definitely recommended. I had the tenderloin, perfectly cooked, even...better than my mother's one (dont tell her) and my son took the burger, which was giant and "pur kiff" (which translates to smthing like "pure bliss").More
The food was very good and waiters were very friendly. We were staying in the old town and we walked there. It was maybe a bit too far. It didn’t matter for us, because it was worth it!
WOW! I cannot recommend this place enough. Genuinely one of the nicest meals I’ve ever eaten. I had the pork tenderloin which was the best cut of meat I’ve ever had, the side of creamy cheesy potatoes were incredible and my partners steak was perfect....The beer (as usual in Prague) was superb and staff were really helpful and friendly.More
On a visit to Prague, we wanted to try Czech food as much as possible. Public transport in Prague is SO well-integrated that it is easy to hop on a tram or the Metro to reach another district. We had read that the best Czech...food is often found in (less formal) neighbourhood bar/restaurants - so we accepted the challenge to get out to find out! U Bulínů has a happy bustling atmosphere (even on a rainy Monday evening), with friendly staff. The decor has a sort of steampunk feel, lighting created from engineering salvage, paired with more traditional tiling and fascinating photographs framed and hung across the walls (I don’t want to spoil it for you!). We shared a starter of pickled cheese - flavour combinations I wasn’t used to, intriguing, our journey begins! I had the braised beef - a large cut, beautifully cooked, tender and moist and falling apart and delicious - and like so much in the Czech style, served in a sea of thick rich sauce with a sliced herby dumpling. My friend had lamb pieces, in a (different) thick creamy sauce with wedges of a different kind of dumpling. There was a choice of beers on draft. After all that, we couldn’t manage a pudding! Get out there and try it!More
When i first arrived here, i expected just a little something close by that my friend recommended, then i chose one of their lunch menus and it turned out absolutely fantastic!
This was a gem of a find. Although not located in the center of town? It was well worth the drive. The food was beyond outstanding. The service was excellent. It is a small little tavern with the best food. The sauces on each dish...were better than the next. I would definitely recommend this restaurant! Our group preceded the pike perch, beef flank steak and pork with mushroom sauce. All were outstanding! The local beers were also great!More
Food was delicious, had the beef goulash, meat was incredibly tender and sauce tasty, also bigger portion then usual in other places for this dish. Staff friendly and very professional.
nice place. I got there on Friday night without reservation but got a table immediately. It was full but not too full. The waiter was very friendly and helped me choose the dish. I got the pea soup and the pork tenderloin. Bot plates were...really tasty. The tenderloin was cooked perfectly and the mushroom sauce was very tasty. I definitely recommend the placeMore
