We went here this January, we have been convinced by the numerous good reviews. The restaurant has been up to its reputation. The place is warm and welcoming, and the staff is courteous. In particular, there’s a very fun waiter that can make you feel...at home, joking in different languages. We have ordered a beef goulash, one of the best food I have ever eaten. And a fillet of Salmon, absolutely tasty. The price is correct and a bit less than the other ones in Prague. If you have to choose a restaurant in Prague let this be your choice.More

Booked a spot here on a Saturday nights as our last evening meal in Prague. It was fantastic. Its about a 20 minute walk from Wencelas Square which is why we picked it. We wanted a non tourist place and that's exactly what we got....The staff, service, food, and surroundings were all superb. The bill was very reasonable too. We had the beef and terrine starters followed by chilli lamb and beef cheek. It was all excellent. Credit to the staff, chefs and management. Book, or you probably won't get in.More

Booked in advance and worked up an appetite on the 20-30 minute walk from the centre of Prague. Great service and food. Couldn’t fault anything. Menu varied. Goulash was memorable and the potato cakes that went with it were excellent. The roast chicken and pumpkin...mash was special too. Would definitely return.More

For our first night in Prague, we wanted to go to a local restaurant with no tourist in sight and excellent local cuisine. U Bulinu fit the bill perfect and exceeded any of our expectations. We sat outside in their rear courtyard which was charming,...airy and beautifully planted. The hostess could not have been nicer and our waiter was friendly, professional and helpful when it came time for ordering. The food was exceptional….tasty and nicely presented, without being “precious”. And there was plenty of it…more than we actually could eat, but we left feeling great about our selections. And the prices were exceptionally reasonable, especially for the quality and quantity of food that we had. I would definitely eat at U Bulinu again when we’re back in Prague…And if I lived in Prague, I know that this would be one of the restaurants that I would frequent all of the time! I’d never get tired of this excellent food!More

The title says it all - this place is fantastic! If you are a tourist or a local looking for genuinely good traditional Czech food, an easy unpretentious place with very reasonable prices topped with friendly and attentive staff ... Well, don't look any further,...as this is your place to go. As for the food? My Beef stock with liver meatballs (Hovězí vývar s játrovými knedlíčky) was as good as my grandma's and Braised beef in cream sauce (Svíčková na smetaně) was better than my partner makes. My friends had Fried cheese (Smažený sýr), Beef goulash (Hovězí guláš) and Salad with halloumi and avocado (Salát s avokádem a halloumi) - all highly recommendable. To all U Bulínů staff - THANK YOU SO MUCH .... I'LL BE BACK. Josef PS: Reservation is advisableMore

If you’d like to try Czech cuisine this place is one of THE places to go. Not at all touristic, we find locals all over. The staff is friendly and speaks good English. The food?!? 🙄😋😋 So, but SO GOOD… I’ve had the best pork...tenderloin ever, in my entire life. I most definitely recommend this place. Make sure you reserve a table. Otherwise you risk not having a spot left to sit.More

We came here searching for a traditionnal czech restaurant. It's far from Charles bridge and all tourists, rustic and that's what we wanted to find. The food Was very good, pumpkin soup as starter and goulash and beef burger for main dishes. Both were very...appreciated The only thing less pleasant is the amount of salt but it's the same everywhere, we know that czech people eat very salty. Thank you 👍More

My friend and I arrived in Prague rather late and needed to eat. We came in and immediately the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, offering us anything we needed. The food was definitely the best in Prague, if not all of Europe! Homemade and...hearty, very generous portion sizes, a wonderful atmosphere and very decently priced.More

A little off the beaten track, this restaurant is well worth the tram trip! We were seated outside in the serene covered garden at the back of the restaurant, which we weren't expecting, but were more than happy about. The staff spoke excellent English and...gave us a detailed explanation of the food when we couldn't decide what to have. They also gave us really good reassurance about the safety of the food for my partner with a peanut allergy, even double checking with the chef for extra peace of mind. The service was exceptional, being available for our every need without being intrusive. We had the pork cheeks and pork tenderloin with mushroom sauce, both were absolutely delicious. The pink pork tenderloin was a new experience for me, and it was lovely and I'll certainly be having pork like this more often. We finished off with the raspberry mascarpone dessert which was light and fresh, the perfect end to a wonderful meal. 2 mains, 3 drinks and a dessert for £28 makes it great value for money in my book. You absolutely must visit!More

U Bulinu is a really charming traditional restaurant a little south of the main area of Prague that most tourists frequent. The interior is whimsical and uses a host of authentic details to create real atmosphere. For example, the electrical box behind the bar appears...to have come from the turn of the last century and was described by the bartender as “steam punk” but it merges seamlessly with old tile work, deeply seasoned wood, and multiple whimsical touches to create a really unique feel that is simultaneously an ode to tradition and a riff on what it can be. There is a hilarious backstory available that tells the “saga” of the restaurant. A quiet and welcoming garden is also available. If U Bulinu only offered atmosphere, I would not be writing such an effusive review. Our hearty lunch meals included a rich, beer based stew, a chicken paprika dish, a well-made beef soup with crispy noodles, little “quiche” on salad, and brussel sprouts and new potatoes. All were flavorful, expertly prepared, and attractively plated. As noted, the bar tender was extremely friendly, patrons were interacting, and there was a convivial spirit. Prices are very appropriate, especially for the lunch specials. Well worth the walk, with the chance to get off the beaten path.More
