I went with a friend this winter because it was supposed to be so historical. We were going to have 'tea time,' but I saw 'Prosecco by the glass' on the menu and ordered that instead. The waiter came back and said that they wouldn't open a bottle for just one glass. When I asked why it was listed on... More

Good margherita pizza for a very reasonable price. Small, on a side street just off the Square. Service quick and friendly. Good people watching place. We stopped there twice and weren't disappointed either time.

This renovated cubist treasure is absolutely wonderful. A photo op is available from all seats in this restaurant. We stopped in only for drinks and snacks and spent our time relaxing and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere.

We limit our visits to the crowded Staromestske Namesti during our stay in Prague and try to cover all the places we like. The Grand Cafe ( Mozart ) is one of them. It is one of the places that allows us to escape the huge crowds that gather around the Astronomical Tower Orloj. If you time it right and... More

Went here for coffee and cake, both of which were excellent. The Viennese coffee kept its mixture of cool cream and warm coffee all the way down - always a good sign. Live piano began while we were there, classy mix of jazz and classical, nothing too elevator muzak.

Okay the Soup was delicious, but noodles were under cooked just slightly. Cakes were very good and coffee was good. Overall it was a great place to warm up with a fantastic view of the Astronomical Clock. Waiters was snooty and very European so his tip was very European and not American. His loss, not ours. Furnishings were from a... More

The Cafe is on the second floor of a two-story building. From ground level, you might not see it. However, its up there in all its glory waiting for you to discover its historic charms. Its hard to know what's original and what's been updated, but the overall impression is positive. Linger for a coffee, or opt for a light... More

My wife and I ate here during a short city break in Prague after a day walking around the city. The staff were friendly and the choice of cakes was great. Recommended if you are looking for a nice cuppa and cake to break the day up.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
