Cannot get more rude than that.
If you spend some time in Czech then you are probably used to arrogant service not willing to do anything but charge you extra just for not being Czech. Thats not an exception. AVOID
This was recommendation of our tour guide. "If you want to try cheap and traditional meal you have to go here", he said. It is cool because you got the ticket and everything you take it is written on that ticket with which, at the...end, you pay. Portions are big and price is reasonable. Food is tasty and it's really good you can choose what and how many you want to eat.More
Very overrated. We know and like these simple & valuable canteen style dining restaurants from other countries & regions. Based on our experiences we can honestly say that Havelská Koruna Prag we visited today for lunch is absolutely overrated. The food tasted ok although the...quality was mediocre, the liver was dry & tough and the sauce for the beef was very sweet. There was more sauce than anything else on the plates (as you can See on all the pics).
The worst part was definitely the personnel. In a tourist location we expected some kind of assistance and friendliness towards the customers but here we were badly disappointed! Rude and unfriendly behaviour from the cashier ladies at the entrance and exits. It was not only us who were treated badly! Won’t visit again!More
This is more a canteen then a restaurant. When entering, you receive an order sheet and then you can stroll around the canteens and make your choices. You compose your own meal and staff will make a note on your sheet. Payment is done afterwards...as exiting. There is plenty to choose from and plates are generous. It is a kind of self service but you don't serve yourself - that is done by the staff. The food is ok and the price also.More
Havelská koruna is situated between Wenceslas Square and Old Town Square, in the heart of Prague. This is not typical restaurant, but self serve canteen. There are counters with various dishes (sweet, meat, pasta, soup, vegetarian), with salads or desserts. They offer real Czech food...for very good price.
When you enter, you will receive a paper on which the people behind the counters can write what you asked. You can ask for small or big portion, you can choose how many bread dumplings you want and so on. You pay to a cashier sitting at the exit when you leave.More
No frills, self serve canteen with cheap, hearty Czech dishes.
The lady at the dessert counter was very friendly and immediately offered to serve me a smaller portion if I wanted (Czech food is very filling so even ‘small’ portions are more than enough).
My...main dish of svickova and a dessert came to a total of 185 CZK, about £6.More
My wife and I stopped here twice on our 4ecent visit to Prague. The food here is delicious. Not to far from the Astronomical clock. For anyone visiting Prague, I would say that this is Not To Be Missed. The lunch fare is a bit...on the heavy side, but you can have just a bowl of soup if you are not as hungry as your dining companions. On our second visit, we stopped in for cale and coffee. The restaurant was nowhere near as crowded mid-afternoon as it was at lunch time.More
After reading some opinions on TripAdvisor regarding the attention of this place I was aware of what to expect. It is really inexpensive to eat, the food isn't that bad, you have good portions but the service is quite awful. They barely speak to you...and stare at you looking really mad. I had researched what I wanted to eat so I did not struggle that much, just show it on the phone and they served me (easy).
They give you a small paper so the people behind the counter can write what you asked for and you pay when you leave.More
Found this place through Honest guide (youtube channel for best Prague experience), went there, ordered Svičkova and dumplings. It was quite tasty but portion of meat is very small, you will fill your stomach with dumplings and sauce. :)
Not expensive, did have to wait...for a table with tray in my hands for about five minutes.
They take cards unlike some other local cantinas.More

Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the
modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
