Anyone looking for delicious food and drink in the centre of Prague for average prices? Take my advice: U Jindrisske Veze should be your choice! I have eaten super delicious ribs made in honey and beer and have drunk perfect national beer. It was absolutely perfect :)

I felt like having something traditional that was slightly out of the main Prague thoroughfare and this place came recommended to me by a friend, so this was perfect. I wanted to keep it simple, so I had the old Czech plate "Jindrich" - roasted pork, smoked meat on the grill, roasted sausage, bread and potato dumplings, red and white... More

This restaurant is only few hundred meters from crowded vaclavske namesty and offers much better traditional czech food much cheaper than those tourist traps at tourist areas. This is very good casual pub restaurant. When we ate there (Saturday evening) majority of customers where locald and only one tourist couple and us. Prices are affordable.

Situated a little off Wenceslas Square, this is more of a no frills local eatery. The staff were polite and helpful, and the food good. It is the sort of place were locals pop in for lunch, as it is inexpensive. Although there was a bit of a wait for the food, it was worth waiting for!

It was pretty crowded, but we got a table for 6 relatively quick. Pretty extensive menu with daily specials. We got entrees, but a lot of locals there were just having beer. The portions were huge and everything was delicious, especially the pork knee. The only downside for us was the smoky atmosphere, but that’s pretty common in Prague, we... More

Went here's for dinner at the recommendation of a local. Food was amazing. Reasonably priced. Only downside, it was warmer inside than out.

Seems like a tourist trap, with a forced 10% tip on the "bill". We didn't understand the bill at all, we had to ask her to explain each item on that piece of paper. The food was average. Only three brands of beer in the menu.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for a money exchange that my hotel recommended. I decided to try it out as I was keen to try the local cuisine. The place serves simply superb Czech cuisine. I would definitely try it again when in Prague. The beers were great too :-)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
