Found this gem on Tripadvisor and it did not disappoint. Popped in for dinner on a Monday evening and was surprised by the quirky decor like being in a medieval dungeon. The staff were so pleasant and helpful and full of recommendations. The food was...fresh and tasty and I have no complaints on portion sizes. I would thoroughly recommend this place to any visitor if you are looking for authentic local cuisine.More
I can't stress enough how good the food is. I came with my girlfriend and her cousin & couple and we ordered 4 different dishes from the czech side of the menu. The meat was amazing but the sauces and the goulash were on another...level. I had never tried hot mead in my life and this place made me a huge fan. I swear to make it a regular stop everytime I come to Prague. Fantastic.More
We thought this would just be a Bohemian bar to have a quirky drink in whilst sightseeing around the city, but it is so much more. Sure, the ambience is one of a dingy damp cellar, serving a traditional beer, Silvovice or Becherovka herbal, but...the food is unbelievable. Standard beef goulash is our favourite, but even a camembert and chips is served with great presentation and ingredients. This place is so good that we had to go back on our last day to be sure that could confirm how great it was. Recommend this place to anyone.More
So delicious, We ordered garlic soup (which is fantastic) and schnitzel and goulash. Schhnitzel is very good and the pickles yummy. Goulash and its sauce is so tasty. Beers are great, personnel is sweet. Ambiance is traditional.
Very nice place with traditional food and correct prices. Fast service and the staff is really friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the location and interior. Try the honey cake and apple pie as dessert 😉. Tip: make a reservation!
Traditional food and beer. Place was busy and staff were very nice and friendly. Decent food and prices were good. The beer was excellent. Typical local fare.
I came here with wife and 1y old doughter. There was no place for stroller and there was bo room for baby sit in table. The baby sit was dirt as f*ck. The food was 2/5. Everything was almost cold. Appetisers garlic spupa and grilled...cheese came fast but was in low temp. The main food came in 10 min and that was goulash and pork. Taste was below medium.... I don't recommend that place for family time. It's mby good when you go with guys to drink beer and eat anything. The service was greate that is plus of this local, polite and understanding.More
Me and my friend visited on a Sunday night. The restaurant was half empty so got seated right away. We quickly ordered 2 beers and 2 main dishes. The beers arrivered in a couple minutes but half of it was just foam. The food was...EXTREMELY slow to come. After an hour of waiting we asked the waiter (that saw us waiting several times) if everything was okay and judging by his reaction we realized that he never sent the order. Eventually the food came, was okay I guess. Nothing too special, honestly. The waiter was quite nice because he apologized by giving us a shot of some kind of liquor. Considering the amount of time we waited (more than 1 hour, and all of the other people that came after us were all eating) I think it would have been nicer having some kind of discount. Also the waiters kept on taking shots.. Maybe they wouldn't have forgotten our order if they weren't. Overall, considering the amount of people that eventually came, I don't it's worth it. There are probably hundreds of places better than this one.More
We were looking for great food and a place to relax from the bustling markets, and we found that place here. The roast pork was delicious and reminded me of a home cooked meal. Another favorite at the table was the roast duck. The restaurant...itself was rustic and charming, and the tables by the wood stove were the best in the house.More
Go here for a real local food experience🤩 10/10⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great experience! Amazing service, food, drinks and atmosphere 🤩 MUST VISIT!
All round great experience at this restaurant. As per some other reviews we wanted a genuine Czech meal, not some tourist thing in the main square. We are willing to walk a few miles to decent restaurant but the reviews drew us in despite it...being very central. I booked 2pm one Friday and I'm glad I did. Two groups of people git turned away due to it being so busy. It's a real nice cosy and traditional restaurant that you could walk past quite easily. The staff were very efficient, not all smiley smiley, but very genuine. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. A nice selection of ale too. I would highly recommend this restaurant, but book or you're likely to be disappointed.More
My partner and I are English and we really wanted to find somewhere with authentic Czech cuisine, and also somewhere that isn’t right in the squares and we came across this restaurant. Don’t be put off by the exterior as once you go down the...steps it opens out into a cute and rustic little space with wooden furniture and candles. Food was amazing, we ordered the meat special for 2 and there was more than enough food and it was cooked so lovely. service was super fast and we weren’t charged extra for the bread haha! Great food and great place and great price ! (05.12.22)More
