My son has Celiac and he tried schnitzel for the first time here! We were thrilled to find a restaurant that had traditional Czech fare as well as gluten free options. The menu was extensive enough that we returned a few nights later for a 2nd meal. Everything we ordered was fantastic, and they even serve gluten free beer!

The reason that we visited here was because of my need to eat a gluten-free diet. This place has its own gluten-free menu with so many options! I had garlic, ham and cheese soup- which was ok. For main I had chicken schnitzel which was rather nice and the desert apple strudel was lovely! For two people, three courses and... More

This restaurant has a very clean look with plenty of character. The food was delicious and the friendly, polite staff happy to explain what dishes were.

We came because we wanted to go to an authentic Czech restaurant but we were pretty disappointed. The food was bland and under seasoned. The portions were good good though. We were especially upset at pricing. We knew we would be charged for any bread so we didn't get that, but when the waitress asked us what potatoes we preferred... More

Very friendly stuff, good selection of local dishes and gluten-free menu available (even desserts)! I would definetely suggest it to tourists, especially if it is important for you to have an allergies-conscious staff and you want to try local food without worries about your allergy (at least for gluten).

Home cooked Czech food in a traditional pub environment. Offers a wide choice of traditional czech foods in both standard and gluten-free options. A non pushy service is nice, when you have generous portions of food and local beers. It was quite busy when we visited, and gluten-free meals are served with a flag on stick so there is no... More

They have some good stuff these students, don't they? Here is a place with a complete gluten free menu at good prices and superb quality. we found it, we ate - I had a mixed platter and my wife a goulash with dumplings - that was great and they had gluten free beer to go with it. Stunning. TIP -... More

Set in a side street in the New Town, we came across U Karla by chance. The inside is clean and tidy but the atmosphere didn't appear welcoming. We didn't eat here so can't comment on the food, but what we saw on other tables looked good. The beer selection was limited to a pilsner, so disappointed with that. There... More

We visited this place twice during our stay in Prague. Traditional Czech cuisine with an entire gluten free menu. Large portions, gluten free beer and reasonable prices. Relaxed atmosphere and staff were helpful.

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
