Medvidku is one for the first stops on my trips to Prague. Reading some of the reviews here many travellers, well tourists really, have conflated the beer hall (downstairs) with the micro brewery (upstairs). Go upstairs if you want to have the house brewed beer on draught (Old Gott - delicious), downstairs to have unpasturised Budweiser Budvar. The later is... More

I was here many times - sometimes only to enjoy the beer, sometimes even for the meal. Their own beers are simply great, but they do not serve them at all parts. The food is also great and the stuff is usually OK for Prague. If you are a craft beer fan - this is a place for you in... More

Not much to say than this. IF YOU WANT TO TASTE THE BEST BEER IN THE WORLD U HAVE TO VISIT THIS TAVERN. I drank houndreds of brands and still nothing comapares to the Budvar served in this very place. Moreover its cheep and the food is good too. The service is alsaw typical for Czechs and its unique.

Service is a bit slow but food quality is really good. Even my Father wanted to go there all the time during our prag trip and ate one portion duck everyday!

It doesn't really matter if you like beer or not, if you like the pork knee or not, this place is a must to visit! It shows the real atmosphere of an old Czech restaurant! Busy waiters, beer that spills out from the glass, noise and laughter everywhere! The knee is the biggest in Prague, trust me! If you are... More

We were here for 2h, there were so many people, the restaurant is so big, we ordered fried cheese and beer which they're making in this restaurant, it was perfect and not expensive, the restaurant isn't beautiful, but u can feel here like at home!

This restaurant/bar/hotel/micro brewery was recommended to us by staff at our hotel. We arrived at about 5.30 and had to queue for about 20 minutes before a table became available. The wait however was more than worth it. The Goulash was divine and the portions were plenty. The atmosphere and decor are very good. I would recommend but bear in... More

We ate here whilst staying in the adjoining hotel. The four of us tried a range of beer based dishes as it seemed silly not to do so. all were interesting although of varying success ( definitely not sure about beer ice cream!)Great atmosphere, great food and really great beer served in the vast warren of dining spaces. Very busy... More

The large room was full and we were seated in a converted beer vat, service was very good and the food was excellent, so was the beer. Price was mid-range, opens at 4 PM daily.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
