This is a no frills real czech restaurant as it used to be.The food is excellent ,service is fast and potato dumplings with cabbage are like my mother used to do it 50 yers ago. And of course, the beer is so good that you would like to stay there forever.

Yes, of course it is for beer lovers - it is a brewery and very popular pub in Prague. Although not so unique as it once was - several other newer places in the area brew their own beer too, U Medvidku is well known and loved by the regulars and tourists alike. We try to stop by for a... More

Due to asking for a table non-smoking table we were sent to the brewery at the 2nd floor. Even though the air was better here, there was a draft that made the air filled with cigarette smoke every time a door opened. For me, this ruined a lot of the experiences with beer as I kept having problems breathing properly.... More

Food has been OK but service has been very very poor. Not that many people but long long time to be even passed the menus and all the same all through the dinner. In addition no serious answers ( even wrong) to our questions about the courses . The waiters showed no interest to the guests. Common feeling shared with... More

We reached this quaint old place pretty much early in the evening after having walked around Prague for quite a bit. What attracted me to this place was its vintage charm and the fact that it is one of the oldest breweries in Prague. We sat at the long tables on the upper level housing the brewery. The beer was... We had a reservation for a beer dinner and we had been looking forward to it. We had to pay 700czk. The staff was friendly enough but one of them got a little mad at me for not eating all of the food. It is not like me to not eat anything I get served but I really couldn't. The... More

A bit hard to eat but worth the effort. There were no sides with this but it was a hearty portion. Thre roast beef in cream sauce with dumplings was also good. The wild... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
