Very nice Czech restaurant in a quiet neighborhood. Their pizzas had more toppings than most Czech restaurants. Grilled camembert with cranberries was excellent. We found the service very good by Czech standards.

First things we noticed when we stepped in were warm lights and a smile behind the bar. The service did not know English or German well but still, we managed to communicate with smiles and gestures. With a bow, we were invited to our table....The seats were very comfy and the place nicely decorated. We waited a bit for our meals but they were delicious. I took a goulash soup and tartar with toasts. My friends took meat goulash with dumplings. Best local Czech cuisine you can get!More

Note: I only spent around around 40 seconds in this institution. For all I know, both the food and the service may otherwise be wonderful. I entered approximately ten minutes past ten a Sunday evening and approached the first person I saw, a guy behind...the bar. He looked rather busy, so to spare his time, I did not ask whether he spoke any English, as I normally would. Instead I asked, "Would it be possible to eat here now?" while miming eating by moving my hands towards my mouth. He raised his head, looked intensely at me and said, "Czech restaurant. Czech food. Czech people. Czech language." My initial reaction was that this must be some kind of xenophobic joke, so I chuckled a little and apologised. But he maintained the cruel demeanour and parroted my laughter loudly and exaggeratedly before he finally lowered his head and continued working. I am normally extremely tolerant of what is called one calls "bad service". I think there should be room for the grumpy and stern in the service industry. I must have lived a blessed life in these respects, because this may be the first time ever that I absolutely dismiss an institution on account of the treatment received. I look forward to a xenophobia-free dining experience tomorrow and empathise with everone who must deal with stuff like this (and far worse) more frequently.More

Good food but really bad customer service from the one of the waiters which totally ruined our meal. Will not return now because of him.

Our last night in Prague before we found this great restaurant. Classic local food with good beer and wine. Pizza if you want it, but you would be missing the chance to try some classic Czech food. Excellent value for money. Service is good.

Old town Prague in July is insanely busy with tourists so my wife and I decided to head outside of downtown for dinner. After seeing reviews we settled on Pet Penez - what a great decision. Traditional Czech upscale restaurant/pub with covered seating outside and...on 2 floors in the restaurant. Try the Pork with sour cherry sauce and potato pancakes - big portions that I couldn't stop eating. The staff speaks English and they also have English menus. Our waiter was awesome. When we got there all the outside seating was taken and he knew we were a little disappointed to sit inside on such a nice night. After we finished our appetizers inside he came to us and told us a couple finished their meal and left and he was holding a spot for us. We got to finish our fantastic meal outside after all. Avoid the crowds - well worth the few stops and 24 Kc metro ticket to come here.More

This restaurant was right around the corner from the airbnb where my husband and I stayed. We were not in the mood to walk too far so we just popped on in. Outside this place is unassuming, but on the inside the decor is pretty...high end yet warm and inviting- not stuffy at all. The service was amazing!!! I wish I could remember the name of our server. She was so sweet and attentive. She did not speak English but really gave it her all although she didn't have to for us. We would have loved her either way. The food menu was incredibly diverse but not diner-like. They also had a really nice wine and beer selection. I had the pork confit. The presentation was awesome! My husband had sausage. It's been a year since we were there and we cannot stop raving about this place to our travel buddies. Can't wait to go back. I also want to say that although this page states 2 or 3 dollar signs, we found it was very inexpensive. When I returned to the states I saw that in dollars our combined meals and drinks did not go over $45 bucks. That's pretty inexpensive for the amazing quality of this place. Gratuity is not included.More

Very good service, welcoming staff. Food was really nice and they happily catered to my vegetarian requests despite not being on the menu. Portion sizes were fantastic and myself and my friend had to leave some as it was so filling. For 2 starters, 2...mains and 2 soft drinks it came to 490 czech korona which is around £17 which is incredible!! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting!More

This little restaurant is just a few steps away from the hostel we stayed in (sir Toby’s) and served very good pizzas and nice beer with happy and friendly staff. We ate twice in our weeks stay and I would recommend to families in search...of food to please adults and teenager alike. Pricing felt reasonable with four pizzas and two rounds of beers (large) and two rounds of sodas (for the teens) for c. 700 cz crowns. If ever back this way will certainly eat here again.More
