We finally found time to try the second Michelin restaurant in Prague: La Degustacion. After visiting The Field, we were excited and had high hopes for the place. The staff was welcoming and pleasant and very professional. The venue is nice with comfortable chairs and...nice view of the kitchen area. We started with amouse bouche which were 5 pieces served at once. The steak tartar was great, the others were okay. We chose the tasting menu with non-alcoholic drink pairing. So let me say one thing - the drinks are extremely well paired and executed. This pairing was really enjoyable. The food. The food was nice. Tasty, well served, well executed and nice. It was not excellent, it was not mind blowing. The best course was the trout. Another chapter was the desert. The desert was just underwhelming - three pieces. And looked like something the pastry chef baked last year and forgot in the drawer. The one piece was a mix of sweet taste of a cookie and a jam with Olomoucké tvaruzky (a very rich, mature Cheese) and I was not a big fan. Overall, the food was good, the service excellent. But the place felt a bit burned out and without drive and motivation. Dust here and there, no real buzz in the kitchen. Felt more like a squeaky wheel. I would expect much much more from a place of this reputation.More

I was in Prague the weekend of Oct. 9-11 and had dinner at La Degustation. Initially, I had booked a table for 8pm. Due to Covid and the new restrictions, as soon as the new rules were implemented, I got a call from the restaurant...who informed me immediately. I maintained my reservation but changed it for 5pm. Inside the restaurant is modern but beautiful and lovely. A special mention to the tables who are remarkable. I was by myself and my table was just in front of the open kitchen which I like very much. I was impressed by the calm and smooth coordination with the Chef and his team. During my whole dinner I never heard any raise of voice or shout. It was a perfect ballet! I took the 5-course menu. Pear, truffle, caramel Trout, potatoes, dill Pork cheeks, kale, onions, garlic Pigeon, beetroot, blueberry Raisins, potatoes, cinnamon, nuts The whole menu was great, with fresh ingredients. I found the trout and pork cheeks, though delicious, a little bit salty, especially the sauce/gravy. A special mention for the pigeon which was amazing. The cooking was just perfect (middle rare cooking) a pure delight. The dessert was very creative. It was the first time I was having potatoes for dessert. It was a sort of espuma/light cream. Wow it was wonderful. I did not take the wine pairing as very often restaurants have more interesting bottles. I therefore opted for a nice Chardonnay 2015 by Jaroslav Osička A great evening, in a very nice place with great staff. Hope restaurants will be able to re-open soon in Prague. This Covid time is such a drama.More

First visit yesterday to the restaurant and we enjoyed the tasting menue provided. At the moment the menue was limited due to Covid19 and the decline of guest to the restaurant. However the service and food was still exceptional. We also enjoyed a beautiful bottle...of Henriot 1996 cuvee des enchanteleurs before the dinner which was amazing. Favorite dish was the one with mixed mushrooms and a tempered eggjokeMore

Me and my companion both ordered the 5-course tasting menu. The food from start to finish was exquisite and the service at all times was accommodating, friendly and of elite standard. The wine list is full of variety and extremely affordable. The food is delicious;...my personal favourite dish being the beef course (see above picture) which was cooked to absolute perfection. The restaurant is extremely deserving of it’s Michelin accolade, and, were there to be more Czech competition/Michelin were to be more recognised in the country, the restaurant could climb the Michelin star ranks and double their * tally.More

We had the 5 course tasting menu. Everting was amazing - the food was delicious and the service was excellent. The desert was the best I have ever had! Everting was super clean and I felt really safe and comfortable, especially give the COVID situation....Thank you so much for a wonderful evening!More

Disappointed. We had dinner in this restaurant, and we were excited at the time. This time we were disappointed. The wines were not matching well with the dishes. The menu was a bit too simple. We will not visit again.

Had heard a lot about the place and we had a very enjoyable dinner. The most memorable dish from the degustation was strangely enough in my opinion the cabbage which had the right balance of richness and acidity. The other dishes were good but not...‘wow’. Yes I would definitely recommend it and would go back, especially for the fun amuse bouche selection and for the service which was the right balance of professional but laid back.More

A superb restaurant in Prague center. I had an amazing 8-course dinner with wine pairing for 6,550 czk. Very interesting tastes inspired from local traditional dishes but revisited by chef Oldrich Sahajdak. Loved the fact you also discover some local products like topinambour which I...never had before. The truffled pear really surprised me. The service was perfect and well executed with full explanations. May be a little bit mechanical but still very classy. Having a view on the open kitchen is like watching a ballet. Lovely and well done to all.More
