We arrived and were seated immediately, we were provided bread to eat. Once we had eaten the bread we were treated to a round of restaurant musical chairs before our very eyes. Two separate couples arrived and were seated on a table for six, one couple at each end, they were subsequently moved to separate tables. This all happened before... More

I've never put a bad review on here before but couldn't quite believe the prices in here. We were given what I thought was a complementary bread basket but then charged for it. I also thought that the wine by the glass measures on the menu must be wrong at 0.1 litre but oh no!! Paid the equivalent of £3... More

We stopped here at random, it was busy, a good sign. We were not disappointed. We were sat promptly and served well. We had beef broth and then shared a "Prague good grub" No 76 on the menu.

Overall, I ate a good meal without any complaints. The restaurant is quiet and is just outside of the bustling square. Inside, the environment is cozy, where I was promptly greeted and escorted to my table. I ordered schnitzel, fries, and coffee; which were all great. Once you are seated, the table receives a basket of bread and mini buttery... More

We had dinner here and loved it. Great food, nice and cosy atmosphere, and fun flaming drinks after dinner.

It was cold, we needed a warm restaurant and meal after wandering about the Old Town for an hour - so Staromacek was ideal. Good food, reasonably friendly service - and some very tasty schnapps! Worth a look in on a chilly evening if passing by; you'll be satisfied but not amazed.

The food at this restaurant was adequate yet the service was appalling. The staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful. When we received the bill, I had seen that they had added bread and oils to our bill for 100 koronas. I explained to the waitress that we had not received any bread despite having asked it. The lady went away... More

We had lunch here on our first day in Prague. The goulash soup served in bread was very good, as was the pork and dumplings my wife ordered , and the service. They do bring some 'extras' at the beginning of the meal which you should only eat if you are prepared to pay extra for them.

Don't visit this restaurant, they don't know how to afford good service for such restaurant. When we saw our bill, we fount there positions that we didn't order. But manager said that we must pay. I don't recommend this restaurant, you can find better one.

Came across this restaurant on a Friday evening, they seemed to have a good range of veggie options (I wasn't expecting to be massively well catered for in Prague!) so went inside. The waitress was pleasant to start with, and spoke really good English, so I ordered the Broccoli with Cheese, Potato Dumplings and Cabbage Salad. After we ordered, we... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighbourhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
