It's close to the Charles Bridge but, despite it, it was not a trap for tourists. We have drank and eaten very well, and were satisfied about the staff and the price. The menu is not particularly rich, but it has everything for an unpretentious, great value meall. Nice atmosphere.

Very decent Czech food and beer, good ambiance, very clean and pleasant. In England it would be a quintessential pub, it is but Czech style. Well worth a visit and away enough from the tourist trip stuff. Not very expensive for what you get, which is decent quality. I come here for lunches and the odd proper Pilsen beer from... More

One of the best place I've eaten Czech dishes in Prague. They have all the typical dishes, starting from goulash soup to typical pork dishes. The atmosphere is very nice and is very cheap. A must to see if you want to eat well in Prague.

Went in as part of the Prague urban adventures city tour, we both opted for the goulash and found it really nice and surprisingly filling. Also tried the light and dark beer in the same glass, can't remember what it's called though. Would definitely recommend but completely full so you might struggle to get a seat at busy times.

Passed by here for a morning coffee. Great little find. Nice coffee, carrot cake moist and fresh. Staff friendly (for Czech places !). Toilets clean and fresh. Some other customers were eating some main course meals from the menu and these looked good too. Even tho it's in a busy tourist area it wasn't a noisy cafe nor was it... More

We ate here our first night in Prague, by recommendation from the concierge at our hotel, I ordered the duck. I knew I didn't prefer Czech dumplings so I substituted mashed potatoes. This ended up my favorite meal in Prague. The wait staff managed decent English. The whole experience was great.

It was great. They have done it for a long time so they have tuned it to perfection. Classic luxourious style. We ate here a couple of times and everything was really tasty. I would recommend their chicken.

We dropped in to the pub on our first day of sight-seeing to take a break and rest our legs after a day of travelling and exploring Prague. The Pub had a nice ambience and we tried the local Urquell Pilsener. They do a 1 Litre tankard which I tried and it definitely was the right size for me ;-)... More

We stopped in here after a long day sightseeing and getting our laundry done, which required 2 trams to get there. The place is on the square and we really had a good time. The food and drinks were excellent, as well as the people watching.

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
