Authentic beer pub with terrible food and service. Unbelievably unfriendly and rude service. Food cold and not even average.

We ate here on our first evening in Prague; as we had travelled from UK that day we decided to eat a bit earlier than normal on holiday (arrived there around 1800 hrs). Maybe it was because we arrived early without any booking that we...got in quick, we had a table in the back of top bar. Some reviews complain about only one beer - fine by us - its Prague so likely to be a decent one (Pilsner Urquell). Beer was great, good start. First evening so had to order local - Svickova for the good lady and gulas for me, with a side of green beans. Food came out quickly (no long wait) and was delicious - I would say if you are ordering a side then its likely to be a big enough portion for two. The waiter/barman was friendly, also spoke excellent English. All in all this was a great start to our break in Prague.More

We had already tried pigs knuckle at the amazing restaurant Ribs of Prague, so we knew the pigs knuckle here would have a lot to live up to. However, I wanted to try traditional Czech food before we left to return to England, and this...restaurant was recommended by our hotel. Others have said the service was unfriendly, but we had no problem with nice servers - limited English but friendly. Menu is in Czech and English now which helps. I had goulash with dumplings, ( came lukewarm and would have been better if hotter) and my husband had the pigs knuckle. The goulash has a very small amount of beef and a lot of gravy and came with traditional dumplings, which are very filling and bread like. My husband said the pigs knuckle was good, but not as good as Ribs of Prague. It had a garlic flavor and came with delicious coleslaw and home style bread. The total cost was 777 czk krona for two meals and two sparkling waters so affordable but not as delicious as we had hoped.More

When I am granting this "average" rating, I mean it very literally. Nothing was "bad". This place is very noisy and buzzling with tourists since it is situated itn the very centre of the Old Town. But their prices are preventing me from calling it...a tourist-trap, because they are very reasonable. So technically this venue can be recommended as a non-expensive quick-lunch option.More

Food hadn't arrived after over an hour. When we stood up to leave, suddenly a couple of plates arrived. Then came out slowly over next 10 mins.

This place is awesome. A bartender/barista at a somewhat off the beaten path bar/coffeeshop recommended this as a non-touristy place with great food. It did not disappoint. The dining room is in the basement and feels very old school. No frills. Filled with older diners...there for an early dinner. Everyone seemed to be having fun and laughing. The service was friendly and fast. When I asked the server for the best thing on the menu, he didn't hesitate: "the ribs." Done. They showed up two minutes later with a big pilsner, and they were fantastic. U Rudolfina is old school, in a great way.More

Great location of the restaurant. The staff is friendly and open to make jokes etc. The food is very tasty and the portions are quite large. Of course, don't forget to order a beer 😄

They only had one type of beer. The service was bad, I came in a group of three people, and I was told that if I don't order anything, I have to leave.

As the snow was falling heavily my twin brother Stephen and I decided to drop into U Rudolfina ,been here many times over the years ,always had a pleasant time here and so it proved on our latest visit. I look the look of this...pub ,interior is unspoilt ,authentic ,set over two floors ,multi roomed ,great decor and furnishings and lots of seating options ,it's just a great pub to unwind in . We were here on a Thursday night ,we luckily managed to grab a table as this pub was packed with a great atmosphere ,we ordered and were served beers from Pilsner Urquell Brewery ,served iced cold and sparkling and with the big foamy head so beloved by the Czech's ,we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. My beer was really good ,a light ,hoppy and unpretentious lager style beer bursting with taste and so easy to drink ,when this beer is served freezing cold as in this pub it's such a refreshing beer indeed ,it was just so good being in such a great pub enjoying a delicious beer and sat with my twin brother Ste,best beer companion in the world. We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Restaurace U Rudolfina is easy to locate along Staronestska. Opening hours are; Monday to Friday,11am till 11pm. Saturday & Sunday, midday till 11pm. Well worth checking out if you're in the areaMore

Wonderful atmosphere of a Czech pub. Good beer and local cuisine at the reasonable price which isn't usual in this part of the city. Location is perfect, close to the famous Charles Bridge, so here you can take a rest after the whole day of...travelling.More

It was raining so we took cover in this restaurant, dont stay upstairs downstairs is the life. We were directed to the back room, obviously the place where the regulars are, it was loud and warm, yet authentic. We got some funny looks when we...asked for goulash with rice, but after consulting the kitchen they made it. My schnitzel was small compared to the sizes i am used to in Germany, but good. Go there for the authentic feelingMore

Restaurace U Rudolfina on Křìžovnivká is a superb restaurant and pub that we visited on our seven day holiday in Prague. This is a superb restaurant and pub and one that we hadn't visited for years. This superb restaurant and pub has a very nice ground...floor area and a superb cellar area. Both areas of this restaurant and pub have a traditional look and feel with lots of interesting fixtures and features and great seating options throughout the whole of its interior. We went to here fairly late in the night and it was rammed in here and we where really lucky got a seat.As we where only having a few beers we sat in the main bar area were we had a Pilsner Urquell brewery beer that were perfectly served and well priced. This is a brilliant restaurant and pub and is well worth visiting and easy to find from the tram stop at Staroměstská its only a minute or so walk to here.(This is my first review of the Restaurace U Rudolfina). Opening Hours. Monday-Friday-11.00-23.00. Saturday-Sunday-12.00-23.00. Public Transport. Bus Stop. Staroměstská bus stop. Tram Stop. Staroměstská tram stop.More

A great 1. Czech food experience. Can really recommend going for the fish and a lot of side dishes, and taste as much as possible. Comes with a massive pile og bread. The sound bounces off the walls so it feels noisy.

Yes, I've been there before in my previous visits to Prague and the first day we came to Prague this time we went there again, Malaya Strana. The service we had there was always good and friendly though everyone told us that with us speaking...Russian, people would not be friendly in this times. The smoked pig knuckle was the best there and the beer and everything.More

Went there after recommendation of our tour guide when asking for local food. Goulash and beer is the go-to option. English written menu with fair price, overall good value for money. Wouldn't say staff is rude but they're not friendly either.
