we stayed at the hotel and ate dinner here both nights. the grilled pork, burger and salmon trout were all good but I wouldn't say they were great. the burger was overcooked. the highlight was the grilled pineapple dessert - highly recommend! 4 stars for...the dessert - service was good.More
We had a dinner+beer time here with family. It is litlle bit snobbish place but food was good. Staff could be more openminded and kind. It was also very uncomfortable to see in the evening how they prepare the restaurant for the breakfast for next...day- they should do it after closing time. This restaurant is expensive but service is on "pub level".More
Here with a group of college classmates. Lovely breakfast buffet each day and several wonderful dinners! Chef did a wonderful job and lovely service. Highly recommended.
We stayed three nights with a group of about 40 so we ate three dinners & breakfasts and enjoyed three sack lunches. Everyone raved about the food. Delicious soups, a fine vegetarian pasta, wonderful breakfast treats, hearty lunches.
You are in the middle of nothing, in the heart of Sumava and dream of really great taste of an organic cousine? This is the place.
We have tried to have a meal in the restaurant only to be met by the rudest waiter in the Czech Republic - and that takes a lot of effort. If you do not want to be abused, give this place a miss. Instead go...a few doors up the road to a mini brewery - they at least understand what service means.More
Had lunch special which was an unusual lasagne topped with cheddar, of all things... but I got to say it was delicious, served with small green salad. House Merlot is excellent. Service was as good as it gets in this country, personable, professional, and precise....Would surely come again, menu is interesting, with such things as Italian fried rice balls (Arancini) and some interesting looking steaks (they raise/butcher their own cattle I believe)More
My family and I visited this restaurant for an early dinner. We sat outside overlooking the village square which is rather picturesque and the weather was lush. We were one of very few customers there and were greeted by a male waiter quite promptly. Upon...asking if they had the menus in English the waiter asked if it was important!? Ehm... yes it is important as we wouldn't understand it in Czech!? We then ordered drinks only to be told that they don't have it. We were not offered no apology and no alternatives. We opted for something we did not want but accepted. When the waiter came back for the food order, our choices were not available. Again, there was no regret, apology or explanation why this was the case. It was early on in the evening (6 pm) so why on earth did they run out of the simple dish like chicken? (And Diet Coke and lemonade and beer) We settled on two burgers which we didn't really want, beef dish and a child's meal of mash and fillet of fish. The mash was ridiculous- I suspect it was smash from a packet and the fillet of fish was cold. Total waste of money. When we asked for tartare sauce, it was again unavailable. Ha! The rest of the dishes were just about average and I would say it was not worth the money. The service was awful, in the end laughable tbf. I certainly would not recommend this restaurant to anyone...More
nice and clean place unfortunately missing more local food selection. Seems to be more foreign tourist oriented. Don't think local people would come due to quite costly menu.
I think it would not much work to be good. Baby food in the good standard, Hamburg roast beef with dumpling with very tasty sauce, but with ice-cold vegetables and ham. Warm lentil salad with smoked salmon is not a good choice and the idea...of a chef. Desserts are good and diligent staff. It goes better, boysMore
