We ate here on the 2nd day of our stay , we wished we had come the night before as the takeaways in the town were awful (Bridge st. and chinese garden) Food was good in the beansprout, probably a bit over priced but it was decent. The beansprout burger was really good and the t-bone was cooked well. Things they could improve on is to make the sides thing with the meals a little less confusing. We both ordered chips and recieved chunky chips which were not great as they were not cooked enough..if we had been giving the option of skinny fries we would have chosen them. My partners onion rings with the steak were very bland no flavour off the onions or batter. They should also display their prices on the specials board. Other then that we would probably return

Clean comfortable, well decorated rooms in a great location in the centre of town. Lovely view from our room.A warm welcome from the staff. We had both dinner & breakfast here- fresh, good food. Plenty of selection. Strawberry milkshake was lovely 😉 recommend going to nearby Culdaff beach

We stayed here for 1 night on 8th August while visiting some relations. I was very impressed with the remodeling from a bank building to a B&B with a restaurant right in the centre of Carndonagh. We had a lovely room which was very clean, a good bathroom with a big walk-in shower, tea and coffee facilities also. There was a small lounge where you could sit and read the paper or do your ironing as there was an ironing board and iron provided! Next morning we had breakfast in the large restaurant before it opened to the public and the food was very tasty especially the sausages!! The owners have retained the old safe door from the bank which is a nice touch. There is also a guest carpark at the back of the property. We enjoyed our short stay and would recommend and hopefully be back again.

V odd. On the wall and the website it says it is a restaurant and b&b- but it isn't. We spent €110+ per night for two nights in a decent room with v good shower but the only breakfast available was separate when the restaurant opened at 9a.m. We ate in one night and the food was fine but seemed pricey for what it was. The staff were v good, friendly and helpful. Really don't know why they are not providing some sort of breakfast The rooms all have signs in them saying you can't eat your own food in them . How strange. It's as if people want to get breakfast! We were in our camper van so ate breakfast in there which was bit weird as we had hoped to finish a great holiday off in a bed and... breakfast.

Recently visited the Butterbean for brunch. Ordered food, food came and I didn’t receive the tea that was included in the price - the toast wasn’t edible, it was worse than burnt. As a young person I felt that I was treated differently, with no care, people who were older that came in were checked in on halfway through their meal but I was not. Will not be back, very disappointing as a visitor to Carndonagh!

The breakfast wasn’t included in their €130 per night price . Yet they call themselves a B&B ? For that price I could’ve easily stayed in a hotel. However this was the only negative , the room and facilities were lovely and it is well located

12 of us stayed here on Saturday 10th of September. 5 Twin Rooms, 2 Singles. Sandra and her team met us upon arrival and couldnt have been more helpful. Rooms were spotless, Like new to be honest. Nice and warm but also well ventilated. Desks etc in rooms so no problem catching up on emails etc on the laptop. Bathrooms and Showers also excellent. We had breakfast at 9am and it could only be described as a breakfast for champions. Lots of choice on offer for breakfast too. Staff again very helpful. A nice relaxed vide in the morning for breakfast where our 12 were served the one time no problem. Great central location beside the pubs if you fancy a beer or 2. They also have a bar in their restaurant. Food is Great, accommodation excellent. Very nice Team there. Perfect for anyone thinking about playing Ballyliffin Golf Courses too.

Average meal out. The service was great, place was fairly empty and reminded me more of a school canteen than a restaurant. A few table cloths would make it more inviting. The starter was great and food was fine. Nothing exciting but ok. The salt and chilli chips are just chilli sauce out of a bottle poured on chips which was amusing.

Stayed for 2 nights in July and had a great time. The rooms were great, spotless and very comfortable. The food was amazing and reasonably priced. Enjoyed a gorgeous breakfast outside, cooked to perfection, including poached eggs, which I always take on the side as they often arrive on soggy toast (including the top hotels in Dublin!) But not here! All the staff were so amazing and friendly. We watched the Euro 2020 final in the bar, and my son asked if there was any food left (service had stopped) No problem at all 2 big bowls of chips on the house. Highly recommend it for a base for a great location. The beaches are amazing, the Famine Village and Wild Ireland. Cant wait to return!

We stayed in the butterbean for 3 nights. I would class myself as Covid anxious and the team were really helpful. I'd my breakfast outside in the mornings and the rooms have their own side door so we never met anyone coming in or out. The room was really spacious and very comfy. The food was excellent as ever. We'd dinner there twice. I'm vegetarian so had a chickpea korma (lovely and creamy) and enchilada (cheesy goodness). Also had some of the mocktails which were delish. Breakfast was also top class. I'd omelettes, poached eggs and for any potential guests - order the fried potato cubes at breakfast, lunch, dinner, whenever - they're gorgeous!

Our family of 4 (2&2) enjoyed a delicious meal this evening. Drinks and starters arrived promptly - all served with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble. Highlights were the homemade chicken goujons, the homemade garlic bread and the massive & tasty 50/50 burger. My cappuccino rounding off the evening was piping hot and the crust on the passionfruit cheesecake was to die for. If you're visiting the area it's well worth a visit. Didn't stop to take a photo! But presentation was wonderful too. Thanks for a lovely evening.

It was a blustery and showery day and driving through Carndonagh we decided to stop for lunch. A lovely welcome to the establishment and an explanation that they don't currently have indoor dining but a covered outside area is available. So happy we stayed! Two very tasty club sandwiches and a delicious chicken, brie and cranberry wrap with Teas and Coffees were just the thing we needed. Excellent service, tasty food - highly recommend if you are touring Inishowen

An absolute beautiful restaurant in the heart of carndonagh town. Food, staff & service first class !! Great menu and so reasonably priced. We can't wait to return. Raving reviews on their breakfast menu also so definitely going to try that out for sure. Five ⭐ all-round

We stayed near Carndonangh and booked a meal in The Butterbean on one of the nights. The booking was done through the website and I got a confirmation email within a couple of hours. They have created a very nice seating area out the back, away from the traffic and there are nice views across the countryside. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was typical pub-grub and the portions were very generous. I would rate the food as 'very good' - we were starving walking in and stuffed walking out. Would recommend.
