Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

V odd. On the wall and the website it says it is a restaurant and b&b- but it isn't. We spent €110+ per night for two nights in a decent room with v good shower but the only breakfast available was separate when the restaurant...opened at 9a.m. We ate in one night and the food was fine but seemed pricey for what it was. The staff were v good, friendly and helpful. Really don't know why they are not providing some sort of breakfast The rooms all have signs in them saying you can't eat your own food in them . How strange. It's as if people want to get breakfast! We were in our camper van so ate breakfast in there which was bit weird as we had hoped to finish a great holiday off in a bed and... breakfast.More

In October of 2022, my wife and I took our four young-adult kids on a two week trip from our home south of Nashville, TN to the UK. One of the high points of the trip was traveling to the Inishowen Peninsula of Ireland to...visit the ancestral castle of my beautiful red-haired Irish wife. On Wednesday October 19 after a day of travel from London to Belfast, car rental, white-knuckled driving through rain on the "wrong" side of the road, we finally arrived at our rental house in Culdaff. Hungry and tired, we asked the caretaker of the house where she recommended dining. She suggested the Butterbean Restaurant in Cardonagh. We arrived at around 6:30 pm and were promptly seated. Only one other family was in the restaurant and it seemed like a little, out-of-the-way type of establishment. After eating airport food all day and having spent several days in London eating not-so-good food, I didn't hold out much hope for this tiny eatery we had never heard of. Let me just say, the food was >fantastic<!! Whoever was working the kitchen >really< knew what they were doing. The food was standard fare - nothing fancy really, but every dish my family ordered (and we each ordered something different if I recall) was absolutely scrumptious. The sauces and gravies were exquisite. The meat tender and flavorful. I literally can't say enough good things about our meal. I apologize to the gentleman who was preparing our food that evening, because before we left I complimented him on his food and I promised to give him a good review on TripAdvisor. Eight months have passed and my son has been reminding me every month to review the Butterbean - so here it is. We can honestly say that dining at the Butterbean was one of the most pleasurable culinary experiences of our two weeks in the UK.More
