Fabulous food everytime. Top service, friendly attentive staff 👌 very clean and comfortable. Seating in either the bar or restaurant. Another scrumptious lunch thanks again the thatch
Great place for a well poured, fresh pint Guinness. Starters and mains are tasty and every bit as good as the food at the Heritage Hotel up the road. Janus and the rest of the bar staff were friendly, professional and quick. We happened upon...a Ceilidh, which was a bonus.More
A hidden jem, quirky decor, with excellent food, great selection, well priced, and great staff especially Aidan !
What a hidden gem food 5 star served by lovely guys .nothing a bother .we all enjoyed our food .2 steak lovers who can be hard to please enjoyed steak cooked to perfection..
The gentleman who looked after us on Wednesday 7th June was not just one of the most professional i have met,but also,if i may say,a wonderful human being. Excellent food and portions. I couldn't finish main course after big wings portion. Unique surroundings mixed with...a more conventional bar experience.More
Having stayed in the Hotel and been impressed with facilities and service we thought this would be a good stopping off point on a recent journey. Could not have been more wrong ! Dull dark and dated interior but worst of all the food and...service. Having ordered the special “steak sandwich” We received inedible meat and cold chips. I brought this to the attention of the waiter who mumbled some sort of meaningless explanation and refused payment despite my offer to do so. AVOIDMore
A really friendly and unusual pub. Eclectic decorations. Warm and cosy. Tasty food and super staff. Service a bit slow but we didn't mind as we were chatting but some people might complain.
Amazing experience from start to finish. The service was outstanding. Our waitress was so patient and kind to our party of 11. She had so much time for the children and adults alike.
Beautiful place very relaxing love the decor and the food is excellent. I've been for brunch also and the menu is great. Staff are lovely and very friendly, defoone of my favourite places to go :)
We regularly visit here for food and drinks, the staff are really lovely and the food is very nice. It has a relaxing environment with unique decor in the restaurant and music regularly. Really worth the visit.
Had food here twice on our visit. Staff were very friendly and the food was lovely . Within walking distance of the hotel.
My wife and I decided while staying at the The Heritage Hotel Killenard to visit the Thatch Bar and Restaurant, which is located outside the gate of the hotel. The Thatch is a lovely warm welcoming Bar/Restaurant and we were well looked after by the...staff. We had evening meals on 2 occasions and the food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. The Thatch was a really enjoyable experience and we would highly recommend it. We were there mid-week and we were informed that there is music every weekend so we will book a weekend stay the next time.More
Firstly I want to say we have eaten here regularly . Really enjoy the food and its all very tasty and well presented so credit where credit is due . Unfortunately our most recent experience was not good . We arrived in and sat down...as normal , 10 minutes passed without the waitress coming near us with menus and she wasnt busy to be honest , she spent most of the hour we were there standing at the bar chatting. Anyway I picked up a few menus off the bar counter myself so we would be ready . Eventually she arrived down to take orders . We asked for pizza and were told no pizzas today and we shouldn't have got the menus ourselves . To say she had an attitude problem would be an understatement , snappy , rude , and had to repeat our order twice to her , possibly because language barrier as she wasnt irish , but we felt that wasn't the issue . We really felt we were bothering her by wanting to order . Eventually she left and arrived back 20 mins later with the food . No complaints about the food whatsoever. 6 of us there eating and she brought 2 knives and 2 forks for us and disappeared. For the full hour she never came back to ask if we needed anything. We got our own remaining cutlery and twice my wife had to go and get water refilled for the kids all the time while the waitress stud behind the bar chatting a couple drinking at the Counter . Cost of the food came to 80 euro which we had no problem with as quality of the food was great but very disappointed with the attitude of the waitress that served us. A friendly smile and positive attitude isnt too hard to give .More
We ate here last night, and would highly recommend it. I cannot remember the last time we received service like this. The staff were so pleasent, funny and attentive. The restaurant is warm and inviting and the food was delicious. Credit where credit is due,...and well done to all involved.More
