My friend and I went for some lunch. We got both got a said, she first he smoked salmon and I got the Cajun chicken avocado broccoli salad. They were both absolutely gorgeous.
The only low point was on the menu advertised is sweet potato wedges but what you get are sweet potato fries.

So I went into this amazing restaurant on a busy Friday evening. I got a really warm welcome the minute I stepped inside the door. Seated straight away with excellent service by the waitresses. They made sure myself and my friend felt at home and were treated very well and they made sure we had everything we needed! Their portion sizes were amazing and the food was really well priced as-well! The bar staff were also excellent! We even had the managers come up to our table to ask us if we were enjoying our meal and that really made us feel like we were important! They made time for all their customers even though they were busy! I actually cannot recommend this restaurant enough for food and also for having a few drinks in the bar afterwards.

Arrived at the Lime Kiln convinced it was the restaurant my wife booked earlier in the week only to learn it was someplace 25km away. Jim from Duleek cabs saved the day obviously knew the owner who was able to accomadate all 9 of us. What a stroke of luck, the Staff could not have been nicer, the food was great and the 2 pints I had were top notch. Highly recommended great menu, chicken wings to die for!

I was just in the Limekiln for lunch with family members. They were delighted with their meal and it was great value. However my vegetarian chilli arrived tepid so I sent it back to reheat. I waited 10 minutes for it to arrive back and it was truly bland, underseasoned and tasteless. Vegetarian option was very small but priced the same as a well filled plate of meat and veg. This was my third time coming and each time I have been disappointed. Please try to make vegetarian food taste better...

We stopped here for a meal on our way home from the beach so we didn't mind sitting outside. I didn't realise that they were serving their food in Styrofoam containers yet still charging the full price. I had queue up twice as we were informed that two of the items we had ordered were not available! They had a one way system in play but when followed the directions , they led me to an area that was cordained off. I mentioned this to one of the staff members and she told me to ignore it! We waited 45 minutes for our food only for to it given to nearby table. They was no numbering system in place.Surely they time during lockdown to come up with something! We were then handed the food by the people who had opened and handled our order! I informed the manager but she wasn't very concerned. I would never darken their door again. They should look up faulty towers to perhaps improve their business.

We dined here early evening, by the time we were leaving it was full. A need to book ahead is essential. Menu not the same as before but good enough for choice only one exception though ..
Would like to see more variety for GF options even on this restricted menu. Mussels was the only GF option for a starter on our evening.
Even at that all was fine and look forward to returning. 5 star rating as usual.

I have been dying to try this place out for a while as I have heard some good reviews and finally got the opportunity. I like the decor and the inside is very spacious and well set out. Very welcoming greeting when we arrived and brought to our tables quickly. I will have to agree with other reviewers that the service is very slow although staff are quite friendly. I decided to try the pizzas as I heard this was one of their specialties. To be honest it was average and my son who ordered pizza also said it was average and that he had eaten better in other places. The winner was the scampi however, which one of our group ordered. Hands down the best scampi I've seen and tasted and was made from king prawns and not the usual small prawns. The batter was amazing on them.. Also worth a try is the Onion rings which were done in the lightest (almost tempura like) batter. All in all average enough meal, but with a lovely setting and friendly staff.

I was here with my husband about a month ago and it was nice and the prices were good and we even mentioned this to the waitress. However, four of us went yesterday and it was a different story. My pizza with smoked bacon and pork was bland as was my son's kid's burger. Looked nice and homemade but tasted of nothing. My other son got sausages and chips. Two sausages and literally a handful of chips for 8.95!!! The flatbread was also tasteless. My husband came up better with the chicken burger which he said was nice.
We also had to wait 45 minutes on our food and we were all starving. I had to ask a waitress to check in the end!
What irritated more than anything were the prices on the menus on the website which are totally off the mark and we got a land when we saw the prices on the menu we were handed yesterday. We won't be back to spend over 100 euros on a lunch for 2 adults and 2 kids.....

We visited the beach and saw this pub after. We decided to eat here as it looks lovely. The inside is well decorated and staff were attentive... at first. We ordered the chicken wings to start. 2 portions to share between 5 of us. Unfortunately they were not cooked through, we had to send them back. The waitress then told us the chef said they were cooked properly, they were just pink and red. Ridiculous! If they're still pink and red they are not done. 3 of our party had eaten one each before we realised. All 3 had dodgy tummies after.
Then we waited for the kids meals, sausage, mash and gravy. The kids had finished by the time the gravy arrived. (They also charged for gravy!)
Then we waited and waited and waited for 2 x adults meals. Very simple fish and chips. We hated asking as we had already had issues with the chicken wings, but we had to or we'd still be sitting there waiting now!! Eventually they arrived and were very underwhelming.
Overall, a very poor experience. They also charged us for the chicken wings we sent back. Needless to say we didn't pay for them.
There doesn't appear to be any staff management in place. No one is assigned to any particular table/section. All very loose.
It's a shame as it could be lovely if ran properly.

We have not been to the limekiln since covid 19 began, I would give the restaurant and staff full marks for attention to detail, social distancing, wearing masks, one way system, detailed cleaning of tables chairs even menus.
The meals were excellent and value for money, if you are a Guiness drinker the pint has improved and its good.
We will be back very soon.

This is our absolute favourite and go-to when we want a nice dinner out or have family to stay. Everything i have had on their menu is fabulous! Goats cheese spring rolls as a starter are to die for, as well as the burgers, sweet potato fries and my Dad keeps talking about their caramelised onion flatbread thing. A nice selection of drinks too. Pre-covid, it was lovely to go into the pub part and listen to live music, hopefully one day that will be back! Post-covid we have been twice and still fantastic.

We recently moved to the area from Dublin and heard about the great food that was apparently on offer at the Lime Kiln.. Decided to give it a go mid week. Booked ahead for family of 4..
It wasn’t too busy when we arrived, staff seemed pleasant. After reviewing the menus, we opted for beef and chicken burgers for adults and chicken tenders and plain burger for kids.
The kids meals were reasonably priced as were our meals, that was until we were told the price for our burgers didn’t include the side order of chips.. For an extra 2.50 or so I could have had sirloin with chips and onion rings!!!!
When the food eventually did come out (approx 35 mins later) we were greatly underwhelmed.. Burgers were at best average with too much salt used cooking the patty’s.. Kids chicken tenders were sad to look at..
I’m not exactly sure how they can justify serving mediocre food at Dublin City Centre prices..

The parking lot was full of broken glass. Bad start (pic attached).
The place was warm and a nice atmosphere. Staff were friendly.
The food was very poor for a restaurant. Overpriced for the quality and amount received. My medium cooked steak was nice but overcooked. The chips were overcooked and greasy, as were the onion rings. The ribs were just dry, tasteless, and meatless.
The kids' pasta dish was long stringed spaghetti and not shell pasta. No steak knives or finger bowls given.
There must be a basic pub cook and not a chef in their kitchen.
I can still taste the grease from the chips and onion rings on my pallet.
I will give this place a wide birth from now on. Bettystown and Southgate, etc, have places up the road to eat.
Did I mention the broken glass in the car park!

Second time we visited and was hoping it would be better than the first but again we were disappointed. Service started as excellent and we went for the “Specials” thinking it would be a safer bet. Pasta with chicken in a vodka sauce and Sea Bass. Sea Bass was okay, pasta was cooked okay but could have been from Tesco for all I knew as the dish lacked chicken and flavour. Plates were still left on the table a half an hour after we finished as the young staff seemed to be under pressure. It is not a Gastro Pub by any means. It is a local business and we will return and hopefully it will find itself in a better place when we do !
