Once again we experienced another wonderful lunch at The Poet. Andy, Petrus and the team ensured we had a memorable time. We all enjoyed the most delicious food, outstandingly presented in the lovely relaxed atmosphere of the Library room. On this occasion we had the Sunday Lunch. The starters were varied in choice and offered some delicious combinations of flavour.... More

Every time we visit Petrus at The Poet, we find that standards just get better and better. Service was impressive with individual attention but not so as to be intrusive. Presentation of each course was first rate and, as importantly, the flavour combinations were fabulous. In particular, the raviolo of scallop and mackerel were superb in the lightest broth. The... It had been five years since we had been. One year ago it changed hands. A young team took ownership. A friend recommended to go. Wow. Why did we not go sooner. Friendly reception and perfect service. Fine beer and lager selection. Interesting wine list and pairing options. Menu with options for all tastes and liking. I went for risotto... More

Wonderful evening, six course special menu. Every course a delight and served by very attentive staff. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. My favourite course was the gourmand dessert.

Incredible food and fantastic service. You could tell it's a favourite for locals but the team make you feel like you're one of them. Down to earth and friendly with great knowledge of their menu, both food and drink! I notice they offer a tasting menu at times which I'd love to come back and try! 100% recommend to anyone!

We popped by for a late Saturday afternoon lunch by the off chance. Loved all the different types of gins - which I obviously tried one of. Lunch was quick and good quality. Staff were very friendly, in fact I wish I had a pub like this place near where I live (West Malling). We even met the chef who... More

If you haven't been here, you must. We haven't eaten anywhere else within the area that gets close to the quality of the food and service. Each course felt like a little voyage of discovery, with different layers of taste and texture to each of them. The waiting staff were good humoured and knowledgeable about the food, and the chef... This Sunday lunch was amongst the best we have ever eaten, and fantastic value for money. The standard of the cuisine is superb, the staff are attentive and friendly and the restaurant atmoshere is perfect. Even better, the Gin menu is extensive and the knowledge of the patron about the selection available made for an all round wonderful Sunday lunch... More

One of my most favourite meals. Friendly welcome, vast choice - all of which I would have gladly gobbled up. Cosy atmosphere.
