We booked accomodation at the blue wren and decided to book in for dinner at the restaurant. The menu is really interesting. Lots of different flavours. The wine is fantastic. I also loved the way the restaurant was set out. Great friendly staff Highly recomended.

My husband and I visited the Blue Wren for dinner whilst staying in Mudgee over Easter. We were expecting a lovely meal following the reviews we had read beforehand, but we were blown away! We sat at the Chef's table, watching and chatting to Steve, Pete and Sophie as they prepared our meals meticulously. It was so personal and such... More

After reading that Blue Wren was one of the top 15 Easter Weekend places to eat, we just had to return. Having eaten here previously, we knew we were in for a treat and what a treat it was. Sitting at the Chef's table, each course was prepared in front of us allowing the chef to explain his concept &... More

I've been here before and I'll come here again. Blue Wren doesn't disappoint. The 5 course menu was spectacular. Each dish masterfully created by the chef and presented in an order that made sense and delighted the tastebuds. The matching wines paired perfectly with the meals and I couldn't resist taking a couple of bottles home with me. If you... More

We had a wonderful wine tasting at the Blue Wren. Many people dislike being charged to taste wine, however for $10 we were able to taste 6 different wines, matched to our tastes, with more than generous amounts of wine given. The owner was fantastic who sat with us and gave us lots of information about the wine and the... More

Dear shnilly Thank you for leaving a comment following your recent visit to the Tasting Room @ Blue Wren. Opposed to a rushed cellar door wine tasting we believe our 'Flight of Wine' at $10 per person represents excellent value for money and offers guests the opportunity to sit, relax and sample wines available in our portfolio. As our team... More

Chef Steve is masterfully creating a whimsical degustation menu in this charming wine country setting. The fresh pea and black truffle amuse bouche was delightful and set the scene for a dinner a dinner of molecular gastronomy with strong Hester Blumenthal and Thomas Keller influence. Wine pairings from the vineyard completed the special evening. Highly recommended!

Paul and the team are doing great things with cutting edge food. The smoked mash and duck liver pate ice cream in particular blew me away. Nice to see a chef pushing boundaries. Wines are great also. We will be back.
