First time ever in this restaurant and second time in Hämeenlinna. Short vacation here. Wanted to have good tasty food. Our expectations were fullfilled. So cosy athmosphere, friendly service and food, we ate starters, fish and pepper steak, was so good. Thank you. Full points!
We went to this restaurant for dinner today, on the advice of some gentlemen we met in the city school. The restaurant is very central, near the church and has the very appearance of a prison. The staff are kind and welcoming. As soon as...we sat down, they made us sit down to take a vegetable buffet (with scones and sauces) and then, once at the table, we ordered the main course. We had a simple hamburger with fries. The bun was maybe a little too thick but good. The meat also seemed to be of high quality. We asked for three separate receipts which we got with no problem. They served us bread that was very dry, tables were uncleaned, plates dirty, tissues actually glued to table. Food was not worth the price and service was mediocre while prices were high. This place has lost its glamour and downgraded a lot.
Very nice environment. The food was very good. 4 persons, who have eaten the lightly smoked salmon, the fish of the day and chicken breast. Everyone was fully satisfied with the food. The staff was very kind. A good experience in a good place. I...would go back.More
Had an entrecote steak that was medium on the raw side. Steak and sauce were delicious. Garlic potatoes on the side were a bit disappointing but the steak was so large I got full by just eating it and veggies. I ordered Ice cream and...chocolate dressing as a dessert, it was beautifully served and tasted great. Nice cellar restaurant with atmospheric lighting. The staff was friendly and pro.More
If you liike to time travel to ‘80s it’s fine, otherwise avoid it. Not worth of Your money! You will get similar food from service starion.
Good location, nice cellar restaurant in city center. Friendly service and pretty quick service also during rush hour. We had three pizzas of two really good, one average
I was there with friends having a nice dinner. The athmosphere in the cellar is awesome, just ask to be seated away from the buffet area. Hällä serves excellent old school restaurant food. And the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

my first visit to this one. Nice and oozy place, excellent service. We were recommended by visitors that the pizzas are extremely good so I could not avoid to try. Unfortunately I took anchovy in to mine and it practically spoiled the whole thing because...it was way too much of it. Other dishes were very tasty and good. I would and will definitely go there again and order something else ;)More
Yep, you cannot find pizza like this in Helsinki, Tampere or Turku so I keep coming to Hällä and so should you.
Very wide choice of meals, especially pepper stakes. Do not miss snails in tasteful sauce of garlic and something I cannot recognize but great.
I have ever only had a great dinner in Hällä but the latest visit was not that superb. We had the lunch buffet and I was disappointed with both the salad bar and the warm dishes. The salad bar used to have a great variety...of choices, very fresh and exciting, but now it was quite modest and the variety was rather small. My kids liked the water melon part of the bar but otherwise it left us a bit cold. There were two kinds of bread on offer and it seemed that at least one of them had been cooked together with pizzas because it had rubbed off some flavour that didn't quite suite the bread itself. My choice of the warm dishes from the buffet was beef and it was quite okay. The other choices contained e.g. tortillas but they both looked and tasted a bit stale and dried out. The dessert custard was straight from the can and overly sweet. The kids liked it, obviously.. The atmosphere and decor appealed to me as always: it is like sitting in the cellar of an old castle. The private sections of the dining area are very nice as well if you are visiting with a bigger group and want some privacy. Let's hope that there will be improvements in the food soon!More
What’s on the menu? Pizza and 80’s food. If you’re looking for an old school restaurant, this is it. It’s nice and the food’s okay. I still think that 20+ euros for a hamburger is a bit too much.
