Moran's is an institution of the area, and having experienced the wonder that is a good fresh Irish oyster from afar, we had to stop by. We didn't have a reservation, but found seats at the bar and enjoyed a meal in its pleasant surroundings. There is a broad seafood menu (you don't have to be an oyster fan to... More

Yesterday we were coming home from Ballina to Waterford and we had the brightest idea we've had in years. Stop for lunch at Moran's on the Weir. We were greeted by lovely staff who gave us a seat in the old cottage. We started by sharing half a dozen Irish Oysters. Simply delicious, now we were lucky on the 26th... More

Stopped in for a great fish fry on our way from Connemara to County Clare. The food is always delicious and the oysters, fresh. Lovely private dining room was offered by our wait staff and we gratefully accepted. It is the perfect way to end a day, and watch the sun go down on Galway bay.

We went for a birthday celebration and we had booked it well in advance before we left Australia . The food was delicious, setting just perfect and wait staff were really friendly. Some of the best seafood we've had on our trip. We sat by a window and the staff had remembered it was hubby's birthday from my email. Dessert... More

This was our first stop (after a quick view of the Cliffs of Moher) after arriving at Shannon. We were very early - about 1 hour before the restaurant officially opened - the young man there let us sit down - and order some food. It was delicious - best seafood chowder ever!! This is one of our favorite places... More

Dinner here on Paddy's night - it was very quiet. The menu was lovely - we had a selection of oysters for starters - you gotta! All good. Main courses were lovely as was dessert.

Food was average to good. Chowder, for example, had very little fish or shellfish in it. The most disappointing aspect of our visit was being told to sit and eat off a window sill. Another group from UK (who arrived after) were, on the other hand, given a nice table. Felt there was definitely a pecking order in the manner... More

Nice restaurant in nice location, off Limerick/Galway road. Stopped and had a nice break while on long journey. Food and service good but not spectacular. Seems to be aimed at tourist market which is fine, but perhaps a bit twee. That said, would recommend and would call again.
