Has Lunch at the Colonel's Cafe. Normally we do our research prior, but went to the Colonel's on impulse when driving by. Really enjoyable and no frill lunch. Good service, good ambience, good food and great price. The meals have a home cooked feel about...them being made fresh and delicious. We both had the Barramundi as a main. Fantastic dish which was brought to our table by the Coloniel himself no less. If you want a laid back, relaxing and enjoyable lunch at a fair price, this is the place. Can highly recommend.More

We came here for lunch on a miserable, grey day and were instantly uplifted by the rustic, cheerful atmosphere of the floating deck. The service was delightfully slow, which allowed us to sample a few bottles of wine from the wine list. Our meals were...uncomplicated and tasty. I loved the ponzu oysters, especially as they came from leases you can see from the restaurant - beautifully fresh and plump. I would highly recommend the Colonel's if you're not in a hurry and want to relax over the water, while sipping away happily.More

We had a very relaxed enjoyable evening! Food was very good, able to take our dog and sit outside, COVID limits meant it was pretty quiet but we enjoyed it so much!! Including free entertainment from the chef playing his guitar and singing! Cox Family...from SydneyMore

This cafe is located right on the water. You just sit and watch the boats go by while you eat. It is rustic and casual in feel but the food is well presented and the staff very helful.

Had breakfast here and was very happy with the food, the prices and the over water location. Service was quick and the coffee was as requested extra hot. This place is also dog friendly. Most tables will allow you to face the water and watch...the boats go by. Definitely worth a visit.More

Got away for a few days and had the urge to drive in to some seafood. When we arrived there was 1 other table of about 6 people and another gent on his own. The waitress arrived with the drinks but managed to knock my...beer over. Unfortunately some of it ended up over our 3 year old, the look on her face was priceless though. I suppose it's the first time someone has spilt something on her but herself. Several minutes later I went to get up and go for a look over the water when I put my hand on the back of my wife's chair there was the tea towel that had been used to wipe the beer off the table and floor that she had been leaning against. My wife ordered the full lobster but when it arrived it was obvious that they were not 2 halves of the same lobster as 1 half was smaller than the other. (or maybe 1 half was bigger depends on if your a glass 1/2 full or empty person) Now I have had many lobster mornay's in my time but this lobster must have been on a diet because the lobster meat and sauce was not much above the level of the shell. Also we found a prawn amongst it. Afraid I could not recommend but maybe we just caught them on a bad nightMore

We walked to Barclays longing for oysters but they were closed on Sunday. On our way back to town we stopped in at Colonels and had a great lunch while enjoying the view on the river, fish, birds... We had oysters and mezze plate with...a glass of Riesling. I would recommend Colonel's as a perfect spot for a long and leisurely lunch.More

The food was terrible.. and watery overpriced for the cheap cafe type. As a local once was enough. Better places in town to eat

Food is amazing, so fresh and a lot of flavour. I love the laid back atmosphere which allows you to sit on the water with a meal and coffee and just relax, take it all in. Not rushed out the door. Great prices too. Can’t...wait to visit again!!More
