Found this on TA and a good decision. They don't take bookings, so just turn up and wait for a table, which we got both times in minutes. First night was a little rushed but 2nd night we asked for time in between courses, which they did. Good service and very nice food. We enjoyed garlic prawns and calamari to... More

Hot summer's night, walked in with no reservation. Attentive and speedy service with a smile and a laugh. Generous on the Parmesan (would rate them 6 stars for this if we could) food was incredible and banter with the waiters not to be discounted. Topped off by a couple of gratuitous shots of limoncello at the end -- would go... More

Have dined here many times over the years and the family running this truly Italian restaurant never disappoint with the food they serve. Our latest visit on New Year's Eve was as good as ever.

The service was great and so we're the surroundings. The meals were a bit pricey but generally good. The lobster was the only meal that wasn't up to expectations as it was dry. Other than that we had a lovely night.

After 4 different stops at restaurants we was displeased with in Coogee we finally chose La Spiaggia. Thankfully we made a great choice! The pizza's are amazing, the spaghetti bolognese is spot on and the salads are perfect. The service was also great they we're very accommodating even giving us a special deal at our request. Would definitely go back... More

La Spiaggia gave us the opportunity to dine out - not just eat. From the first G&T to the complimentary limoncello, we were looked after and allowed to relax with lovely food. Our starter was a selection of cold meats which can only be described as a healthy portion. We both had steak beautifully cooked. Definetely on the list for... More

La Spiaggia is our favourite local in Coogee, great Italian in a friendly busy atmosphere. Great for families, big tables at the back, fast service. Order the meatballs - we love them.

Ok so I've been eating here off and on for 5 years. All those years ago pizza of this quality was a bit of novelty but is now pretty widely available . I don't get the complaints and that it's expensive because possibly it is a few dollars more then a lot of other places but who really cares .I... More

A delightful family-owned Italian restaurant that could come straight from Bologna, it is a must for us whenever we come to Coogee for a long-weekend stay. The food is traditional Italian, cooked with pride and served with cheer. One of our favourite places for a relaxed, satisfying and great-value dining experience.

Staying in Coogee

Neighbourhood Profile
Very accessible by public transport, Coogee is the smaller, friendlier, more intimate version of Bondi Beach. Coogee is the only beach in the Eastern suburbs that does not have big waves, making it an excellent family beach. The Coogee Bay Hotel, located right across the beach, has one of the biggest beer gardens in Australia and plenty of entertainment every night of the week. Be on the lookout for celebrity footballers! A little further south is Wylie’s Baths, offering sweeping 180 degree views over the Pacific Ocean, and it is perfect for a swim or a few laps. Plenty of dining choices surround the beach, including the famous fish and chips.
