looking at some of the reviews, one wonders at the 'wine knowledge' of the tasters involved....te Awa offers typical Villa Maria reliability for VALUE for $ spent. (in this region, that goes for both Vidals and Esk Valley Wines). Te Awa restaurant in our experience, and we go there frequently, offers highest quality local fare in decent size servings at... We have been on a cycle wine tour in Hawkes Bay trying different wineries. The Awa had average wines and the service wasn't really good, compared to the other wineries we have been. Maybe they were too busy serving guests like us, as they had a big wedding on?! If we would do another wine tour, we would be easily... More

The wine tasting was brilliant. The lady serving us was well knowledged. Even though she was managing 3 different groups at the same time we felt like her full attention was only on us. Top marks for service. Lunch however was disappointing. Reading about the restaurant prior to visiting I expected 4-5 star but the food lacked flavour & service... More

Lovely setting for lunch, especially on a gorgeous sunny day. Food beautifully presented & very yummy too! Attentive service. Wonderful wines.

Wonderful food in very relaxing and lush vineyard setting with friendly staff. We enjoyed the great wine and food here, very modern style of cooking with a passionate team in the kitchen and front of house.

It is no exaggeration to say the lamb shoulder is big enough for 2 persons (big appetite type). When the waitress told us so, we thought they were kidding. Well they proved us wrong! It was also delicious, so what can you say!! The vegetarian meal they prepared for my friend was very tasty according to her, so I can... More

When at a winery restaurant last year in Napier, fell in love with a Rose and had 2 dozen sent back to us in Tas. Having lunch here for the first time featured the rose, and recognising the label, I knew I'd found it again. Beautiful lunch. Not keen on the 'share plate' formula - easy for the chef but... More

Fabulous setting for the restaurant but it doesn't even come close to how good the food was! Tonnes of flavour in each individual bite, laters of textures and amazing pairings. Absolutely delicious! Go for the tasting of all starters and you won't regret it!

Wonderful wines to taste and chocolate too. Our server was very knowledgeable and we got a great introduction to their wines. T shirts and wine for sale and pizza as well

Did our own Wine Tour on the Sunday of the Napier Art Deco Weekend, and booked lunch at Te Awa Winery Restaurant. It's lovely setting overlooking the vines, tables in the garden shaded by the trees and an excellent lunch menu. The food was really delicious great service and the glass of chilled Sauvignon the perfect accompaniment.
