The food was exceptional. Everything fresh and they use local produce including meat. Varied menu and special requests were catered for. Your must try it and go feeling hungry !!!!

Great locally sourced food, apparently meat locally caught. The staff were friendly and manager especially good with children. Deserts and cake to die for

A starter of pork pate so light then Venison so tasty and tender. The service was excellent. The staff were attentive, but not intrusive, and very friendly. The setting was beautiful and sitting on the terrace enjoying the view was relaxing. I can't wait to...return.More

We were looking for a Slovak Koliba. We stopped at the Pension Elephant, and the welcome we got was awful, it was full, but no-one tried to help, so we simply left. Best decision ever. We followed the signs to Pension Dolina, and you must...make the effort. Keep on to the end of the road, and you find a modern restaurant in a beautiful woodland setting. The food is very good, tasty and the staff fantastic. For Slovaks, this is rare ! When we left, we heard the shotgun shooting, went to look, and they were happy to let me have a try. The staff again were VERY friendly, and good to talk to as he happily explained the place etc. It was a wonderful lunch. I would like to go back in the summer to sit on the large terrace overlooking the nice lake that is there. It is beautifully remote, set perfectly with food and staff to match. One of the best we have found in SlovakiaMore

I was quite surpise what a wonderful place where this pension is located. So quiet, calm and clean place it is. It has also possibility to shoot and do a fishing including some houses to live in. A food (chestnut soup and steaks we had)...was more than excelent. For sure it was not the last visit we have paid to this place. The service is just perfect. Comfort and delicious food just make this place very special. Thank you very much for warm welcome and nice time we had for relaxing. Family with 6months old baby :)More

The food is excellent, the setting is picturesque and the venue itself is very well presented and classily done. The only down side is the menu is not in English; that was ok for me as my wife translated but really in today's world they...should have a translation of the menu. From what I can gather the menu is a mix of traditional food with a modern twist. Apart from that it's hard to fault especially as it's very good value to me being from London.More

Wow what a find, so pleased to follow the signs to Dolina restaurant/ pension. We were on the road , direction from Nitra heading to Bojnice castle. The restaurant is located in a small village called Horne lefantovce, right at the end of the road, it...has a lovely pond with a really large terrace area. We stopped for coffee and then decided to stay for lunch, we were really impressed with the tasty Halaszle soup. I understand this is a Slovak or Hungarian speciality, I believe the base of the soup is made from a really good fish stock. We followed this up with a really good apple strudel and my wife tried the poppy seed version. If you like good quality ingredients, great service with the most fantastic pond setting then I think is the place to go for lunch. Way better than any of the other country restaurants we have been to so far in Slovakia.More
