We often stop off at this cafe because they have great coffee. We also had a delicious lemon meringue pie slice with it. Decadent but lovely.

My husband and I visited Hislops while staying in the Top 10 Holiday Park across the road. We went for breakfast and had some delicious poached eggs - service was great and we felt very welcome. Would definitely go back again.

We had a great lunch. The seeing is nice and the staff were very friendly. Food was awesome, everything, including wedges, were well done. Coffee was also good

A group of 10 walked in for breakfast. No booking and we were seated quickly by a friendly girl on the door. It all went down hill from here... Our waitress (Italian girl) wasn't great from the start, she was not particularly friendly and it took ages to order (she seemed to have trouble with her computer order pad). The... More

We stopped here for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our meals; although not cheap, the Lentil Burger was delicious! Flavourful, fresh, homemade and nutritious; it was one of several marked vegan options. They also had no problem with our dog sitting outside. :-) We would highly recommend this place!

This cafe is terrific. We had a beautiful healthy breakfast and delicious coffee. We were there really early, just as they were opening and they we very accommodating and friendly. I bought some of their ground wheat and also some lovely local honey. Highly recommended.

The breakfast was excellent. Muesli was homemade and very tasty. Toast and jam were also great. Best breakfast we had in New Zealand. Hislops is closed on Monday and Tuesday, so it's worth changing your plans in Kaikoura to make sure you're there on a day when they're open.

Tried stopping here on our way to Christchurch, the sign out front said it would open at 1pm to 5pm, we were early so carried on. On the way back we came after lunch thinking the place would be open but it was closed for the day. I looked at the Trip Advisor site and it said they were open,... More
