There is probably no Indian restaurant in New Zealand with less ambience than this place, but the food was good, hot and quick.

Very friendly and efficient staff. Dropped in for a lunchtime special. Delicious, reasonably priced food delivered quickly to our table. Cannot be faulted. Will certainly return.

We went to the city Shiraz on a Bollywood themed night so there were dancers and a DJ performing to a fully booked restaurant. They had a smorgasbord laid out which had so many choices it wasn't hard to fill the plate! As always, very good food and will always go back for more...

I had to return the following day to savour the gustatory experience again and get a second box of sweets! The waiter, Gopal Kumar, knows how to be of service and engage in conversation with polite awareness at the same time and genuinely seek feedback. Branches in Kamo and Dargaville. I am about to order online for delivery as a... More

A family favourite. Even after the kids have flown the nest their first request when they return is a visit to Shiraz. The extended menu with Chaat and Mithai options is heavenly. What can beat gol gappas or dahi bhalla on a hot summer day? Well.... Kulfi falooda or the rasmalai.

Relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Authentic Indian at a good price. Family friendly, they made extra mild for the children and they ate it all.:)

We've been to Shiraz twice now - once as part of a large group, and once as a small group. The food is delicious - very flavourful and wholesome - no shortcuts. They use real food and flavours. The desserts cabinet is a special treat - diverse and very yummy. The naans are great and the curries are real. Pompodoms... More

Description
Shiraz Indian Restaurant was the first truly successful Indian restaurant established in Whangarei. We have pleasure in bringing you the finest ethnic cuisine which evokes nostalgia of a glorious bygone era! Jaswant Singh and his team bring you the spicy, tantilising taste of India with a menu large and diverse enough for you to return again and again without ever tasting the same dish twice! You choose the degree of spiciness whenh you order either at the restaurant or for your home delivery. Traditional dishes from the best of authentic Mughlai and North Indian cuisine are there to tempt you, whether they be chicken, lamb, beef, seafood or one of many vegetarian dishes. Don't be concerned if you don't think you can cope with a hot, spicey curry as mild curries are available for those with a more sensitive palate. If you're feeling brave, try a hot Beef Vindalloo! As well as a huge range of curries, Shiraz offers a large selection of Indian breads and entrees to round out your meal. And after your meal perhaps a bowl of mango ice-cream would be nice to finish? Bookings are not essential but it is a good idea to call in advance as some nights are busier than others. SHIRAZ is a lisenced restaurant and has an excellent range of wines, NZ & Indian beers. SHIRAZ can be found in; Whangarei, Kamo and Dargaville. 5 Reasons why you'll have a great time at Shiraz 1. You'll have delicious freshly prepared chicken, lamb, beef, seafood and vegetarian dishes. 2. Your meal is prepared with the finest fresh locally sourced vegetables and dairy products. 3. Awarded A+ Merit food licence for food safety, cleanliness & training programmes. 4. Have a family friendly restaurant and children's menu. 5. Guaranteed you'll leave satisfied... Simple.
