We have been going here weekly for several years. The soba noodles are amazing, as is the tempura - the udon too and basically everything. Do yourself a favour!

My husband and I came here for lunch and we left more than satisfied. There's a good number of options to choose from. I had the tempura udon. I was impressed with it because there was a lot of noodles, and the tempura wasn't just all batter. I could see and taste the prawns and the vegetables. The broth also... More

The food here is amazing! I absolutely love it. The venue is small so make sure you book. My only issue is we got kicked out because they close at 9pm (on a Friday night).

Visited Newcastle for the TiNA cultural festival with my niece, and after a day of visiting galleries and pop-up art spaces we treated ourselves to a dinner here. Knowing how busy it gets at later sittings we were there at opening time and had gyozas and shared a main course. Perfect!!!

Started dining regularly with the kids getting a pick. My niece picked Asa Don and I will say it was excellent. Extremely varied menu, something for all tastes. Also BYO so that's a winner too!

I had the chicken noodle soup, it was excellent! I have had the tempura udon before and it is also great. This place is pne of my favourite places to go in newcastle. I would highly recommend.

Asa-Don has a great range of reasonably priced meals available. The staff are wonderful and very accommodating. The tempura is tasty and even those scared of trying different food that they aren't use to will love eating out here!

Small place in the heart of Newcastle, opens to a lovely little courtyard seating. All the favourites on a small but satisfactory menu plus a specials blackboard (look for it, the staff don't tell you). It's a cafe not s sushi train so don't expect huge range of sushi but the salmon sashimi was fresh. Cash only and BYO, it's... More

My biggest advice with this place is BOOK IN ADVANCE! The experience is great, the food is fresh and delicious and well priced. They could do with a little music, but otherwise 5 stars all round. Highly recommend this place for delicious Japanese.

Thank Bella C
