Nice ambiance - the service was good and so was the food. I can see it will be a very popular place in Westport, as there are few decent restaurants in the town. We will be back!

My worker in WP went for lunch. The menu was confused and hard to choose from so co-incidentally we both chose the all-day breakfast. It was Ok.....some stuff dry and overcooked, eggs were poor and I think there was a hashy thing....it took a while...More

Popped in on the way through to Granity. The service was very friendly and the food and coffee was great. Gorgeous Art Deco theme with lots of menu options.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the waitress's were great, good choice of meals available - just wish we had room for dessert.

The chilli cheese bread was very tasty...problem I find when I have bread starters is that the servings are good but fill you up when it comes to the Main...and dessert is out of the question. Dined here a while back. The main was great...More

We choose this restaurant after reading reviews. It is on the edge of town but well worth the effort. It is a level above in menu choice and food. Oozed class and quality in decor. Friendly and helpful service. Gourmet garlic bread to die for!

Loved the food and coffee and enjoyed the garden seating on a sunny day. Its a lovely old art deco building even if it is a little out of the way - on the main drag (Palmerston Street) down towards the harbour. Well worth a...More

We stopped in here at the suggestion of our moteliers on our only night in Westport. Not much seemed to be open, so we were happy to have the advice, plus the couple of free drink coupons they gave us. The menu was limited but...More

Hard to find places to eat anywhere on the west coast but the townhouse is about as good as we can hope for. Good menu, wine list and service. Decor is a little sparse, i figured they'd recently opened as i don't remember it the...More

Housed in the distinctive Art Deco ‘Waterside Workers Union Hall’ The Town House (formally The Bay House) is a ‘must do’ on your coastal itinerary. Reminiscent of a European café The Town House is the ‘go to’ place whatever you’re dining needs, whether it be a meal at anytime during the day or evening, a coffee and croissant in the morning, an afternoon wine or cocktail or a late evening drink and dessert. This is the place where you will find the locals sipping espresso at the bar on a Saturday morning reading the paper while others dine in the restaurant and enjoy the a la carte menu on offer. Located towards the port end of town near the picturesque fishing wharf on the corner of Palmerston and Cobden Streets, The Town House’ cosy interior is in keeping with its art deco history featuring original wooden floors, be-spoke wallpaper and wood paneled walls throughout with a deco sunburst theme behind the bar, the freestanding fireplace and in the original art deco glass and rimu doors that lead to the north facing terrace. The dining room is cosy despite its open design and high ceilings. The room warms up as it fills up with diners and comes alive with the enjoyable buzz of dinner conversations and as the warm weather comes to an end a spot by the fireplace is desirable and will see you settle in for a very comfortable dining experience. The Terrace has seating for 40 diners and on a sunny day is the best spot in town for alfresco wining and dining.
