Wanted somewhere nice to eat and decided Bacchus looked like it fitted the bill. I was not disappointed. Bacchus is in a gorgeous old building overlooking the Octagon. We had a lovely table by the window where we could look out as we peruse do the extensive wine list. The menu is not extensive but it does what is on... More

We had a delicious dinner here on our travels, after the restaurant was recommended by our host at our B&B, who also booked a table for us. Entire meal was superb, especially the lamb. Service was attentive, wine was good. Expensive, yes, but we found most places were expensive in New Zealand! Only thing stopping a five star review is... More

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but we just paid $97 for 2 mains that were below average that took over an hour to deliver to our table. The wine was good, the turkish bread was good, but the time it took and the overall mains were pretty bad. I had the fish of the day - which was brill... More

Enjoyed the ambiance. Food will good. Service a bit elongated but our group was large so staff were busy but very helpful. Crenelated brûlée absolutely delicious.

My son and I dined here during our recent trip to Dunedin, and enjoyed it so much that we returned again. The second time we knew we would be pushed for time, and they assured us that they would accommodate our requirements, which they did. The restaurant is in an old building in the Octagon, so is beautiful inside, with... More

Had a really nice date night while on a mini break in Dunedin. Was busy so would recommend to book a table. Service was good & so was the food. Found it hard to get nice restaurants in Dunedin so this was a good find.

Overlooks Octagon in town center. Quiet place to get away for an exceptional lunch (for us anyway) while viewing the activity below.

This was recommended to us, we turned up without a booking and were made very welcome. Our dinner was very good but service was a bit slow, though the girls were charming. Would return.

We had a very nice meal there on a Saturday night but the service was slow , we waited nearly 50 mins to get our food . My other gripe was the Gourmet potatoes ( new potatoes with butter ) and seasonal vegetables were extra and being a Scotsman I like value for money . Service was polite and good... More
