Visited for lunch with family and was not impressed. The service was terrible even with very few customers there. I had to ask for someone to take our food order with both waitresses chatting to a friend at the bar and at the end had go up to the bar to pay the bill on the way out. Food took... More

Where do I begin? Ordered food from Gluten free menu, got completely 'Glutenous' meal, with a hunk of bread and more bread in case I wasn't already aware of the obvious flaw in my meal. Service is lacklustre and the food is not what is advertised. The wines are pricey and oh, so average. Avoid on pain of death.

We received a mountain of fried food, it was overcooked and poorly presented as a mixed pile. It appeared that bags of frozen samosas, spring rolls, sausage slices had been poured into a deep vat fryer and dumped on a large serving plate. Based on this experience, I won't be back.

We visited here for a drink and a platter. Beers were a good as always. Not sure that the platter was up to usual standard. Still enjoyed our time.

This is the third time having eaten here in the past couple of years and despite hoping it will get better with each time, we always leave disappointed. I'm not sure what is with the attitude of the staff who work there but even from the time I made the booking over the phone, the girl who answered was not... More

Once upon a time this restaurant used to do a really good meal, however, times have changed, and for the price I felt it was expensive for the quality and presentation of the food on the plate. The food looked as though it had just been sloshed on the plate, - no real discerning variation, and the kumera chips were... More

In the past we have dined at the Speights ale houses and always had great food and service. This however has changed quite dramatically and judging by the feedback it seems similar for all of the restaurants Christchurch. When we arrived to be seated we were asked to wait by the waitress who was busy adding something into the computer,... More

Took our 12 year-old grandson for a Sunday night treat and everything was just fine. I reviewed this place in April last year, and the food is still as wholesome and large portions as in the past. Most other diners were family groups with quite a number of older people. It was a very pleasant atmosphere. S had a filo... More

Chicken Filo Parcel all APricots and cheese very little Chicken, ALl day breakfast lacking in appeal and certainly not as advertised, Beer Steak was overcooked and tough. Very disappointed as previous visits had been as expected, this visit not happy... More

Always love to pop in for a brunch, lunch or early dinner. Food is great and always big plates to fill you. Service can be a little maddening on nights when there is a rugby game, or concert. It is the meeting place to enjoy a drink but get there early for food.
