My wife and I had dinner here for my 60th birthday. An up-market restaurant for adults, with a quiet and charming ambience/decor, and the staff speak both French and English. The restaurant was a little difficult to find, being located on an upper level at the rear of some retail businesses, however this was in fact a plus as it... More

One of Chch's best overall dining experiences. New restaurant is great and food & service continue to be first class. If you have not been go, and always leave room for dessert.

We visited this restaurant last Sunday evening, as a treat for my birthday. What an experience, from start to finish could not fault anything. The service, ambiance, food wine, were top notch, My husband who has visited many French restaurants around the world voted this in top five. We will return

My wife and I have always enjoyed the food and top service, this visit was no exception. We have eaten at the original cbd address then after the earthquake we followed to Papanui a slight larger premise and now to their very modern larger premise in St Asaph street the food and service has always been consistent. Excellent diverse french... More

We visited St Germain on our first night in Christchurch and so glad we chose there! Although a little bit hard to find in a sort of new industrial block, the experience of finding this gem and walking into a cosy bar was great. I could tell the tables next to us were almost all French. We had the escargot,... More

Have to agree with MrsJimE that the new premises have delivered a ambience that is way above the old worn atmosphere of Papanui Rd. We enjoyed an early meal and could not fault any of the food or service. Tricky to find the entrance - it is around the back and through the blue door and upstairs. Bon Appetite

Their food was great before in their previous location, but this new location just feels like they have found their home. I have been twice in as many weeks and each time the m mmm factor. Toilets are worth a mention 😉really pretty nice. Reservations are advised - food and service will speak for itself 😍
