This was a highlight of our recent self-guided cycle tour of the Blenheim/Renwick vineyards. The young man who talked us through the wines was informative but relaxed, and the wines themselves were different but lovely. We purchased, and would highly recommend you stop by Hans Herzog on your vineyard tour.

Contradictory to some of the other reviews, my wife and I felt the service in the Bistro was good. Our disappointment was in the food which was at best average. I've seen other reviews mentioning "supermarket cut of steak" and would agree. My ribeye was tasteless, with a mound of butter that was frozen and whilst cooked to my required... More

We have been meaning to visit this place for a while and finally did last Friday. It was well worth the wait. Great food and service and excellent wine matches with wine made on site. All French waiting staff and the place had the charms of an old school country French bistro

We had a great time there recently. The staff are all from overseas and not trained in food allergy terminology such as dairy free, which is a pity. Had to explain that it's not gluten but milk and products derived from milk. The main waiter for our table was very careful, but another waiter brought out the antipasto, which looked... More

A great wine tasting here. So many wines that we really enjoyed but hadn't tasted before. Loved the Gruner Vetliner 2013 and the Pinot Noit 2011. Would definitely go back. Our host was very knowledgeable . Great winery! Organic too so less chance of a hangover the next day. Loved!

My husband and I were fortunate enough to spend 3 nights in the Cottage at Hans Hertzog and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The care and attention of Hans, Therese and their dedicated staff made us feel at home. We dined in both the Bistro and fine dining Restaurant and the food, wine and service were excellent. The degustation menu at... More

We stopped in for some wine and went in the Bistro for a little lunch. The wines were great and we really enjoyed our lunch. I had the Mozzarella salad. It was nice with a topping of arugula. This is a good stop for the Bistro or the restaurant.

We booked the restaurant for a birthday dinner based on great reviews on Tripadvisor and we're glad to say the reviewers know their food!. The food presentation and taste definitely verified that these dishes were prepared by Michelin-star trained chefs. The wakanui beef was melt in your mouth and cooked to perfection. We only regret not visiting during the day... More

A pleasant restaurant in a garden setting on a boutique estate. 28 varietals from an eleven hectare site. Wines are European in style and make for a wonderful contrast to other wineries. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch with a large number of wines available by the glass. Try Phil's beef cheek with a glass of Montepulciana, superb!

This is an outstanding restaurant in the Wairau valley. The wines are exceptional, and the ox cheek was superb. Antoine was a great waiter/host. Reservations are essential.
