It was very busy so we were surprised at the speed of service... the coffee and banana & berry smoothie came out almost immediately, closely followed by the bacon sandwich. Very tasty! Good coffee too

I have had breakfast at Astoria for a few years when Im working in Wellington. Todays was fantastic. Griddle burned ciabatta toast, tomatoes cooked to perfection, two thirds of an avocado, one poached egg (perfectly cooked). Best thing about this amazing brekkie? The aioli that came on the side was just spectacular, I didnt think I needed it, till I... More

I came hear one year ago for breakfast and it was great so we decided to return. The menu was different but thought we would still eat here. The service was great and the atmosphere and it's very classy and clean. Good menu options. The meal looked amazing but it all tasted very bland and quite dry. It wouldn't recommend... More

Mmm... I'm squirming when I think about going here. I hate paying gods money for average. We had scrambled eggs... they were absolutely tasteless - felt like s complete waste of money and could have been eating something great somewhere else. It was such a dull experience. So popular but this made it SO noisy. I wouldn't go back.

It's easy to see why Astoria remains very popular with locals and tourists...but mainly locals. Consistent food and style and quality served by excellent and helpful staff in an interesting environment.

The best breakfast and coffee in Wellington. Service was swift and the staff were wonderful and friendly. Went 4 days and we were recognized and barista knew our coffee order by the second visit and had them under way before the breakfast food order made. Therefore coffee on the table quickly.

Looking for a place for Breakfast that's not on Cuba St? Then Astoria is well worth a look down on Lambton Quay. Something for everyone on their breakfast menu with reasonable prices and full plates. Coffees were great and Service was quick even though the place was very busy.

Great location and setting. A basic wine list, reasonably good coffee,OK service but the food on offer is pretty ho hum. Not much of a variety on the menu, the counter food does not look to be the freshest, but if oyu just want a wine or a coffee its pretty much OK

I'll never go back, the lady at the counter was a complete idiot/dits, I was completely ignored while she talked to a waiter about her day. The iced mocha was warm and had no chocolate taste at all.

Perched on the edge of Midland Park, at the heart of Wellington’s shopping and business districts, Astoria offers a blend of grand European café culture and the quintessential bustle of Wellington city life. A celebrated atmosphere is fuelled by the café’s contribution to the popular park, particularly when the sun graces us with its presence. On colder days, loyal clientèle enjoy the cosy expanse of our vintage interior. The menu is inspired by seasonal produce, paired with coffee roasted on-site.
