We've been to Avida many times in the past. This time was a spontaneous decision when we heard that friends of friends were visiting from England. Stephen, the host, first got us some drinks and understood when we didn't particularly like his first offering: the Portuguese rosé he brought instead (dry, restrained fruit) was just right. He then explained the... More

Came to Avida for a drink after work with a friend. Was my first time visiting, and was very impressed. The drinks menu had a huge variety of wines and beers, and different drinks to choose from. Venue was very nice, and staff wonderful!

Avida had been recommended by friends. Overall the food was disappointing I ordered the goats cheese and honey puffs although the texture of the choux pastry was good the filling was not goats cheese. The lamb cutlet was under done and both plates of chicken wings were sent back due to being undercooked.

Fabulous dinner before WOW. So great location in central city short walk from our hotel and on to WOW. Liked tapas style food. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Looking for a place to spend a nice evening with friends and family, this is it. The place has very good ambience, very courteous and efficient service, and delicious Spanish style tapas food. It also had an excellent selection of wines. Price is quite affordable.

We enjoyed our pre-show dinner of tapas and a beautiful bottle of Chardonnay . We have excellent service from the Manager and the very enthusiastic Marco. The selection in the menu varied enough to meet everyone's taste and requirement. Will be back soon.

We called in for tapas and a drink before our flight out of Wellington. The restaurant was fully booked but when we explained we were due to catch a flight we were offered a seat in the bar area which was fine. Our tapas arrived very quickly which was superb. Extensive wine list. Can thoroughly recommend the prawns. Great flavours... More

I was with a group of women who dined here before going to WOW. We booked earlier in the week and were pleased as this place was full with many others dining before WOW. We all ordered the special WOW menu for $40 each and enjoyed the tasty plates which were full of flavour and perfect for sharing. Our waiter... More

We decided to eat elsewhere prior...tuned out to be bad choice. Walked in this place, straight away ambience and super service. This continued with waiter and waitress the best we have come across in NZ. Only drank wine and a snack , but next time will visit for sure. Top marks here

I went in for a 'post work' time drink, and the staff were very friendly, although potentially a little try hard. Great relaxing setting, we sat in a booth by the fire, which was really cozy. I can imagine this bar is really busy at post work hours, yet not so much later, it was full of workers when we... More
