Loved the customer service and choices of vegetarian options of burger, pasta and lasagna. The portion is huge and being good eaters we couldnt even finish the mains. The live band was cool, and surely a place to chill. The free wifi was a great help! The burgers are amazing!

I read about this in one of the brochures in the hotel. This is an interesting and busy pub for dinner. Be prepared to wait a little if you go later in the evening. The food is great - I had a seafood chowder, loaded with a variety of seafood and my husband had the shephard's pot pie. Both were... More

There must be 100 places to find a feed in Rotorua but this is a place that you must go. This historic place was the old police station but now it has been made into a typical Pub. I had the kiwi style Fush and Chups the curled potato was a real treat and the fish I am sure was... More

Decided to try the Pig and Whistle during our stay in Rotorua and heard it was kid friendly. While there we did see people come in with kids and leave. We entered.. you should know to pick your own table. The ones in the back feel like you are in a food court not a good pub. Opted to sit... More

This is an authentic pub with great atmosphere and service. The history of the building is interesting, and the information provided is informative but discreet. The name seems ironic, given the original use as a police station. The food is really excellent and the portions generous to say the last. The lamb salad was great. Good cider too.

Awesome food and great atmosphere :-) We debated long and hard about which of the fabulous array of restaurants in Rotorua and we are so glad we came to the Pig & Whistle! We will definitely be back.

Cheerful friendly pub. Good beverage choices. Curly fries are fantastic. Regular place to catch up with friends after work and close to the Thursday Night Market in town.

This place was suggested by one of my mates. He said I'd love it and he was right. Lovely ambience, staff were friendly & efficient. Meals were reasonably priced & bigger than I thought they'd be. Live entertainment, chatty banter from other tables. Bonus: NFL was on the big screen.
