We took our teenage children for a end of holiday treat to what we thought a great seafood meal. The amount on our plates was an insult and it did not even taste that great. We were very disappointed with ourselves for wasting our money on such a pathetic dinner. Never again.

A choice of two five course tasting menus (one with two meat courses, one with just seafood) enables the chef and his helpers to produce very good food which stimulates your senses - sight, taste and smell. Very friendly and helpful waitresses. A very enjoyable evening. And priced at NZD$50 for five courses (doubled if you take the flight of... More

An outstanding tasting menu that offers everything I look for in a tasting menu -- imaginative, great variety, well chosen portion size, complex construction, careful explanation of each dish by a warm and personable staff. Don't be put off by the price being quite a bit lower than you would expect for a meal of this quality.

My husband & I had an enjoyable degustation menu with matching (predominantly) NZ wine. Jeremy, is a Maori chef, warrior tats & all. He is more comfortable in his kitchen than having photos taken by tourists. It was great to see him preparing our food unlike many top end chefs that run restaurants. We really enjoyed the food & wine... More

I have read all the good reviews, but this was our experience.... The price was a good value for degustation meal compared to what we were used to paying in Sydney. The concept of serving complex fusion seafood in contemporary artisan style was appreciated. Just too bad of two things: 1) not much to look at on the plate except... More

If I could award Michelin stars to this restaurant I would. Alas, I shall have to make do with shouting the praises of Chef Jeremy & his front of house staff. I was recently in Napier, showing off my birth town to my husband, no pressure. After researching the best of what Napier had to offer it was a no... More

We went to Pacifica last night and enjoyed the five course degustation with wine match. The food was sensational and wines, beautifully matched. Who knew that a potato cooked for five hours in dirt (an adaptation of hanging the cooking) could taste so delicious. The wait staff were attentive and were very passionate about the food and wine as well.... More

We ordered the full tasting menu with matching wines and were thrilled with it all. The dishes were all fantastic, with well balanced flavors complemented well by the wines. The service was terrific even by American standards. Can't say it was cheap, but it will probably be the best meal on our whole New Zealand trip and a memorable experience.

We hadn't been to Pacifica in 6 months or so because even though the food was outstanding, it was very expensive for rather small portions. In fact the portions were so small, you really couldn't get away with only ordering one dish. Generally we each ordered two dishes each. We went there on New Year's Eve and were wowed with... More

My husband & I choose Pacifica when we want to indulge and eat like a King & Queen. We have never been disappointed. The food is fresh & the menu changes daily although a couple of our favourite dishes continue to be regulars, which we like. Highly recommend if you want to spoil yourself or each other & if you...
